Pen as Sword - Social Commentary

Does not the human being have a hard service on earth, and are not their days like the days of a labourer. Like a slave who longs for the shade or a labourer who looks to his wage alone. So I am allotted months of emptiness, and nights of misery are apportioned to me. When I lie down I say “When shall I rise?” But the night is long and I am full of tossing until dawn. My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle and come to their end without hope. Remember that my life is a breath; my eye will never again see good.

It appears, on reading the histories, that this is man’s lot, his natural state in life since time immemorial, or at least the last few millennia. The promises of the enlightenment have fallen away as empty rhetoric these last 4 centuries and we find our “enlightened” selves in a comfortable, enervating state of abject mental misery constantly pursuing distraction through the senses and passions, and the ever retreating chimera of godhead, of the fully realized “ubbermensch” has never been less reachable.

If this is all there is, then what’s the point of it all, except to produce greenhouse gases and turn good food into shit?  A hopeless journey, a never ending “Trip to Abilene“, an endless cycle of squalid passions and corruption ending in the decay and stench of of the grave. Now, never more obviously broadcast than in the latest act at the Supreme Court Playhouse.

The Supremes, in their infinite wisdom, moving us to a new level of low … and not a single voice raised in objection anywhere, only rave reviews that Canada has finally joined the legion of the enlightened nations of the world –  the legion of the damned … we are the neo-carthaginians moving forward into a brave new age of murdering the weakest and most dependent in our culture, the sacrificial victims on the alter of our god of Self. The burnt offerings on our barby … throw on another baby and add a heaping helping of seniors, eh?

And pick up some Timmie’s on the way over.

The Islamics have it right … this is the culture of evil incarnate.

We take pride in being incomplete, incorrect, inconsistent, and unfair. We do all of them deliberately
