The Inner Struggle

Revisiting the Past … (Learning From Mistakes)

AizuCastleA beautiful spring morning, good coffee, sunshine and another full day of Year End work ahead of me. I would love to say I enjoy accounting but some days it is just a slog through hip deep mud with my eyeballs falling out of my head. Blah blah blah. Sorry for the long hiatus but this Year End is simply consuming me in my push to get it done on time for the first time in seven years. Enough excuses, onward and upward. This image on the right is of the original tenshu of Aizuwakamatsu Castle (1868), Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture . “Kōjō no Tsuki” (荒城の月 lit. “The Moon over the Ruined Castle”?) is a Japanese song written in the Meiji period. Japanese pianist and composer Rentarō Taki composed the music as a music lesson song without instrumental accompaniment in 1901. The song was included in the songbook for Junior High School students. The music of the song was inspired by the ruins of Oka Castle whereas the lyrics, written by Bansui Doi, were inspired by the ruins of Aoba Castle and Aizuwakamatsu Castle.

Was there ever a time when humanity didn’t choose self over others as a general rule or is it simply not ever reported or recorded in daily life? Good morning and welcome to my first effort at describing our culture without ascribing any particular agenda or motivation or attributes to particular individuals or classes of individuals. This is an attempt to refrain from injurious language, attribution or projection of my own cynicism upon the subjects of what I observe in daily life as witnessed in media channels everywhere. I don’t know if I can do this without slipping into vernacular rhetoric and semi-sophisticated ad-hominum attacks but we will try our best to avoid the “Trump” style of discourse and adhere instead to the “Jesus” style.

Secular Humanism or Progressivism is the root of all evil. This ubiquitous tree of evil in whose branches all the demons of infidelity find ample shelter; it is today the evil of all evils, the foundation of every trial and trouble of our times. The internet, music, television, theater, literature, public and private morals are all saturated with obscenity and impurity. The result is inevitable; corrupt generations beget a corrupt culture. Secular Humanism or Progressivism is the program of naturalism. I am my own person, I have rights, I can follow my own muse.

Free-thought begets free morals, or immorality. Without restraint free rein given to all the passions, whatever the vice, be it drugs, licentiousness, drunkenness, fornication, prostitution, abortion, euthanasia, sodomy, corruption of public service, funded public programs to encourage acts and life-style choices unheard of in previous cultures. The short list includes fraud, lewdness, public deviance of all sorts, robbery, murder, pornography, or political corruption in all its myriad manifestations, vote buying, broken promises, usurious taxation, and not excluding the teaching professions and the inclusion of all manner of immorality by the education system as acceptable and even laudable behavior, whoever thinks what he or she pleases will do what he or she pleases.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I’d follow my own damned advice.
