Revisiting a previous post which was written while having printer issues I update folks who I may have left with a bad impression of Hewlett-Packard printers.

To date I have gotten all my systems but one running perfectly again and playing nice with the notorious printer which I had blamed for all my problems. And at this stage I kinda have an affection for the printer which is sort of like a cranky but talented horse which if treated properly will perform extremely well.

My Workstation

The one system on my network which still has problems is the Windows 7, 64 bit system on which I did the original install of the notorious HP color printer. On THAT machine I am able to fax scan and everything else including wireless services EXCEPT printing documents.

It now appears to be a printer induced spooler issue in this install of Windows 7 which so far I have been unable to resolve. I am reluctant to tear down everything and re-install since this is my graphic-arts workstation for doing digital imaging as well as the station upon which I blog, do email and gaming,  and everything else is working just fine.

I am reminded of the old adage that if wooden buildings were built to the same standards as software the first woodpecker that came along would destroy civilization.  On the other hand I have to acknowledge the daily, even hourly miracle that mostly everything works so well most of the time.

Sigh

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I’d follow my own damned advice.
