Politics and Economics

A study in opposites …

Canadians have traditionally defined themselves and their conglomerate of compliant compromises, also know as Canada, by what they are not.

They are not British, they are not Franco… or not Anglo … depending on birth … they are most emphatically NOT American, oh my goodnessss, certainly not that, my preciousss.

David Warren has an amusing post today over at “Now Playing.

America has an economy, Canada is a department of the same economy, smaller than Californicator’s.

America pays it’s bills and a lot of bills for other folks as well, of whom Canadians are one of the largest beneficiaries.

America is a large team in the world league, Canada is America’s waterboy with an ego problem. And every time Canada trash talks America (which is surprisingly often with Childe Justine in that big chair on the River) America’s team leader gives Canada a big wedgie.

Once we get over ourselves, and shut back up, things go along fine until the next big foot in mouth pratfall by our fearless leader Dudley DoRight Trudeau.

I have remarked before that I am proud of my country. I like being Canadian, but I strongly feel that we could be so much better if we went back to that place about the middle of the last century.

Back when we were more about working hard and honesty was more important than talking big and shooting down our friends behind their back publicly, as if we were chattering on some sort of international diplomatic Facebook.

Trust me, no matter what the Trudeau dynasty believes, we are way more like Americans here on the Plains, than Russians, Chinese and Cubans.

I have also remarked in the past that American annexation of everything between the Rockies and the Ontario border would be the best thing that ever happened to us poor besotted proles in flyover country.

Prove me wrong, anyone? anyone? Buhler?  As David Warren remarked in his article, we have for a “leader” a nothing, in a very spiffy package; a triumph of pure advertising.

America has an extremely annoying, rude, loudmouth, S.O.B. who is actually right about a lot of things and this really upsets every leftist progressive wingnut on the planet.

I would much sooner work for a loudmouthed, efficient, effective, straight shooting A_ _ hole who gets the job done and leaves the other teams in the ditch.

What we have is a whiny, nice hair, mama’s boy who just wants to play dress-up, go snowboarding and grope butts. But that’s just details, right?

Details, to the uninitiated, are always boring, as David says, and the voting masses, in the sense of “the masses” explained by Albert J. Knock in my last post,  will never be initiated.

They want someone to tell them what to think, and to fulfill their entitlement to risque entertainment, and that is really “Risky Business”, preferably with lots of Fan Service.

For example, take our leaders, please, take them away, far, far away, back to their land of “Once upon a time …”

Trump disturbs all the holy cows — the vested interests, that had been peacefully flatulating in their fields. People hate him.

I would swap him for Trudeau in a split second without a second thought. Hit the Big Red Easy Button …. NOW!

Cheers

Joe
