Heard that the UK Ministry (of Health?) or someone in a position of authority(?) announced that they are “revising” their emergency projection of needing about 200,000 respirators to deal with COVID-19 cases down to “about 20,000”. That’s a big drop, I think.
Also listened to a podcast where it was explained how in Italy everyone in a hospital dying of some respiratory complication is dying of COVID-19 … and the death rate was much higher in 2018 and even higher in 2017. So Italy is actually doing better than normal?
Are these the first signs of a much needed spring thaw, and will our collective leader classes start to gradually ratchet back the rhetoric and off-the-cuff draconian “solutions”? We can only pray.
