Another Year End …

“River Flows In You”, Yiruma, from the album “Yiruma Piano Collection” , (2001)

experts

Alas … Year End accounting is sucking up more and more of my time so instead of some new and original re-thinking of old thoughts and conclusions I will simply point here for an interesting and humorous take on our current crop of “experts” … Be Afraid!  Be Very Afraid! Bwahaha!

Of course there is always the darker side of things, if one cannot laugh at what is going on.

Living in this world it is astoundingly difficult to avoid becoming attached to the things of this world, not the least because we are almost completely unaware of those attachments unless things start going against what we want, in terms of outcomes and tastes and opinions and the physical realities of enjoyment, food, listening, seeing, entertainment, sex and other distractions, and so on and so forth.

And things have definitely not been going the way we want, ever since this whole Red Bat Flu manufactured crisis started, have they? Now we are really having our lack of distractions rubbed in our faces.

Now it would be welcome to have another get together for a fish fry or even just coffee with acquaintances. All these fellow travelers on this mortal path, more or less my age, many retired service members and/or their spouses as have survived the vicissitudes of time and we share many views and opinions, no surprise there.

Thinking about the thing which hammers home as we all age together. Death is no respecter of political or economic or moral views. Visited a seniors lodge the other day while arranging for an older person I know well to move from his current slum, into something more reasonable and reliable, and it was striking how much older than me were most of the residents … marking time … waiting for the gate, ’twas the first time I felt young in a while.

How so very many of our old friends and  acquaintances are no longer with us for these our get-togethers and coffee breaks. These days Cancer seems to be the weapon of choice of the Reaper, but Coronary Disease is the other big one, the Scylla and Charybdis of our modern end of life.

We have been completely losing that war on Cancer for well over 60 years now, billions and billions spent, and billions in profits to all the usual academic and commercial interests, and the gravy train keeps on rolling and no victory in sight and something like 95% casualty rate among the sufferers.

Now the Red Bat Flu has been turned into the NEXT BIG KILLER and used to excuse all the draconian restrictions on civil liberties and freedoms and utterly destroyed the private economy in passing.

You better damned well listen to all the little Greta(s). If you don’t maybe we’ll send you to a camp? You all need to get serious about this … Right Now … Oh Well …. Orwell … Or Else!

The only people feeling good about the Red Bat Flu are the thousands of government workers who continue to get paid their large salaries while being ordered to stay home and “babysit” their own kids because all the day-cares are closed. What a complete … “SNAFU”! … “shitshow”! … even a “clusterfuck”! .  Why is it so hard for anyone to admit that our current health models are not working?

Why is all the bitching focused on “It doesn’t make any sense…” ?  It actually all makes perfect sense when viewed through a lens that acknowledges that the Canadian government at all levels wants to move to a population control model similar to the model used in Red China.  Looked at that way, it all makes perfect sense!  Suck it up Sheeple … just get in line, do whatever you are told and STFU!

Is there a re-education camp in your future?  Who knows … we have been here before but back then it was a crime, of course back then killing children and seniors was a crime as well, and so was illicit anal sex with members of the same gender …  hmmmmm.

Thank God that death plays no favorites …death claims the virtuous and the deviant, the affluent and the poor, the liberal socialist and the conservative capitalist, the religious and the secular, the parent and the child … death comes for us all … often when we are really not ready to depart.

The only thing that seems to stand out is that those who believe in eternity and live accordingly have Hope. The rest do not, just a grim journey down into despair, and all the “stuff” we spent our lives for has no saving grace at all. What do you see at the end? Are you (as I once wrote) “A cloistered parenthesis of tawdry trepidation staring runny-eyed into the black chasm of the banal”,

or are you like Pippin …

“PIPPIN: I didn’t think it would end this way. GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn’t end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what? GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn’t so bad. GANDALF: No. No, it isn’t.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings.

Puts one in a reflective head-space to consider all this.

Cheers

Joe

2020, How Are Things So Far … Big Brother Tightens The Net …

Ballad Of A Thin Man”, Bob Dylan, from the album “Highway 61 Revisited”, (1965)

Well, like every day in a life, there are good things and bad things. I finally got around to sorting email and reading the important ones, and answering the really important ones … 150 emails a day really starts to pile up if you don’t look at them every couple of days. Things are finally starting to settle down here in the Shire and it looks like “the authorities” may be starting to relax all the state imposed restrictions of freedom of meeting and association and all that stuff.

No Relaxing …

The plague has claimed no victims in our county, and there is some light at the end of the tunnel. It looks like the authorities have realized (in a classic corner office “DUH!” moment) that the most important victim of the Great Red Bat Flu Pandemic of 2020 has been the economy … destroyed utterly by all the restrictions to movement and social distancing.

Thankfully, there are noises in all the usual places about starting to relax all the restrictions in a “phased in” sort of way because we all know that biological agents respond well to government restrictions and we wouldn’t want to upset them by “freeing the prisoners” too fast.

Of course, it will never go back to what once was ’cause governments never give up whatever power they grab. And then there is Calgary, in which, Social Media, claims there is no relaxing.

No Relaxing …

Reports out of the east have it that the fines imposed by police for “social distancing” crimes in Ontario and Quebec are now over 6 Million dollars and still climbing, with Toronto and Montreal grabbing the lion’s share of “Social Distancing” revenue.

This has been accepted totally by the residents of those fair lands because, after all, it’s all “for our own protection” Right? If folks accepted “photo-radar” they will certainly accept “social distancing”.

“Normal” implies “norms” of which our polite society has been completely devoid of for nigh on 30 years now. Going back to “normal” simply isn’t in anyone’s future in Canada. Remember “Woodstock”? That was a cultural monument to personal freedom and choices, wasn’t it?

It literally took place in the middle of the Great Hong Kong Flu pandemic of 1968 and 1969. Hong Kong Flu was a much greater killer that Red Bat Flu … and not a soul ever suggested restricting anything.

Because Hong Kong Flu wasn’t a very bad flu by world standards … just another flu season, that killed “weakened” victims as well as some of the young and even children. No biggy. Sigh … I think the sky is falling … NO! wait … that was yesterday.

I remember as a child and teenager, my grandfather telling stories of the “Spanish” flu which killed a couple of family members (his sisters) in Halifax, and is reported to have killed somewhere between 17 million and 50 million people worldwide (precision in statistics wasn’t a thing back then either). It was called “Spanish” flu because it was wartime and the press were censored and not allowed to report on anything except in neutral Spain.

There is a lot of evidence that this flu actually originated in (wait for it!) China and was transmitted by Chinese workers, but the Wickedpedia makes sure to tell us that there is a body of publications by China and others explaining why that was impossible. Things haven’t changed much in the last hundred years, have they?

All sort of in jest …right? But I will point to some links showing how that is starting to unfold in Europe and no doubt it will spread here in a very real pandemic of bureaucratic totalitarian strangulation.  Check out the enlightening article at this site.

We always lag Europe by a couple or so years before we start “controversial” programs here.  The links in the French Public Schools article go to the French Government’s instructions about how to run the schools as they re-open, and they take you to PDF’s which are in French. I guess there were some good after-effects of the Quebec Education system of the 60’s since I can still read French, but you might run it through GOOGLE Translate? Unless of course you too were a victim of the “Quiet Revolution”. In which case you remember everything and won’t have any problems, right?

So how are things in the ROC?

That Mayo Clinic article which a reader sent to me, is a very reasonable article. I like it because it clearly, and in detail, lists the mainstream health system’s “opinions” on vitamin supplements in general and Niacin in particular. The opening argument is: “most people get enough niacin from the food they eat. Foods rich in niacin include yeast, milk, meat, tortillas and cereal grains.”.

This has been an unconsidered reply to any question about vitamins for over a hundred years now and is simply untrue. The current public health response to vitamin deficiency disease is :”There is no problem … we are following the guidelines, here you stupid, uneducated, whiny patient, take these expensive drugs for your psychosomatic problems and come back in a month so we can bill again”.  After all, it’s all “FREE”, right?

We’ve been here all along, people, think about Cancer  and all the success we have had “curing” that killer.  I am always interested in new information streams regarding health and fitness. For several years now I have been following up on and reading about Cancer as a metabolic disease rather than a genetic disease. I wrote about it here under the topic of Models that work.  I also mentioned this here, and here, and here, and here.

The blind leading the blind, with a long pause at the bus-stop of “Wealth Management” … for the right shareholders.

I have personal friends and close relatives who have died of cancer. I have a great personal interest in this killer and the politics and economics swirling around it. Just think about it for a bit … AND I have close personal friends and customers, and my own ever-lovin’ self who are, or were, actually suffering from what now appear to be deficiency diseases rather than “normal” diseases of aging.

The elephant in the room when it comes to cancer is our Research and Medical treatment system’s extraordinary failure to make any progress in 50 years of “War on Cancer”.

With literally billions sunk into this bottomless hole of terror we still routinely accept that something like 98% pf cancer sufferers won’t last 5 years. This appears to me (in my Homer Simpson simplicity) to indicate that the current model is NOT WORKING, (DUH!) and we are simply barking up the wrong tree.

It is not a stretch to conclude that there are other interests wedded to this model and keeping us on this track rather than a genuine desire to cure cancer. Would we need a Department of Health if everyone was healthy? Hmmmm.

There is now another elephant in the room … GEE!  it’s getting really crowded in here! We are more and more realizing that the same model that is used for “Cancer Cures”, also applies to deficiency diseases. There is not a shred of research published anywhere to back it up. It is the “opinion” of some anonymous faces in the food chain of our academic and health bureaucracy.

Our processed food supply and our farming methods have so depleted our soils that natural levels of nutrients in processed foods and unprocessed fruits and vegetables are dramatically insufficient for the health of consumers.

No-one today can rely on our grocery store foods to get healthy levels of nutrients. And there is no standard human requirement for these nutrients. The “recommended daily allowance” is just the opinion of someone in the nutritional establishment needing to plug some value into a briefing note. there is no “science” involved except in using the word “science” in the justifications to make readers feel safe(r). Everyone is different and some require high and even very high amounts and some require less.

We are all “outliers”.  But the mathematical use of statistics and such  are way different from normal day to day uses of stats as employed by government and media.

In fact, by any definition the actual use of statistical “science” to find truth is in and of itself an “outlier”. Think about that one for a minute and you might realize that the “outliers” might be the only “correct” data points, hmmm.

Manipulating statistics with imagery, implication, innuendo, and allusion, and just plain good ol’ falsehoods is the essence and lifeblood of propaganda, and accounts for about 90% of all government news releases and media reports (did you catch the misuse of statistics in that line?).

Case: The retail vitamin supplements available in grocery and drug stores provide a reasonably detailed list of what is required, but the recommended daily allowances are simply pulled out of the air in amounts that can have no conceivable effect on the consumer all the while protecting the asses of the bureaucrats who approve these “recommended” allowances,

Warnings can be “nuanced”. I especially liked the way The Mayo Clinic worded the “warning” about Diabetes medications: “If you have diabetes, niacin can interfere with blood glucose control. You might need to adjust the dose of your diabetes drugs.” Another way of referring to the same phenomenon would be: “Regular daily dose of 3 grams of Niacin reduces excess blood glucose therefore requiring reduction or complete elimination of Diabetes medications as a medical necessity.

What isn’t published anywhere except in the fine print regarding Doners to, and Owners of, the Mayo Clinic, is where the funding comes from and the “unbiased” medical agenda underlying their operation.

Coincidentally Niacin also reduces blood pressure and the levels of dangerous cholesterol much better and more safely than the current regime of guidelines recommended patented drugs and for a fraction of the cost.

My own doctor, who is very much a “guidelines” gospel believer, has acknowledged with a frown and a shrug that I am no longer diabetic, no longer have high blood pressure, no longer have cholesterol problems and have a normal lipid profile and a better range of motion and much less pain in my joints. And sleeping well … blessed sleep … thank you very much Niacin.

Case in point is that I noticed this morning while coming down the stairs to work that I had absolutely no pain in my knees or hips and was completely flexible with good balance. That is a big change from two years ago when I was in such pain that I thought the next medical event in my life would be knee and hip replacements like my older aunts and grandparents.

So … when I look at my health life since January 2017 I see large improvements in my health. In short, I was fat and dying of all the usual killers, Heart Disease, Diabetes, and joint deterioration. Now I have lost over 40 pounds of fat, and moved from a future that held Insulin for my Diabetes, ACE Inhibitors for my Cholesterol problems, joint replacements for my failing knees and hips, and drugs for blood pressure and for anxiety problems and sleep disruptions.

Now, by every measure and lab test, I am completely healthy, with none of the above problems, and not on any medication. I am brighter, more rested, thinking clearly and optimistic for the future at least half the time (well, I am still aging, and old guys do get down about getting old from time to time even if they are healthy).

And I did it myself, by not following my doctors advice, and taking the drugs but rather by changing my diet and supplements. This has been a three year process of blood testing and examination and re-examination.

My doctor also complains, “But my patients want an instant fix without having to change any of their lifestyle habits. What am I to do? The drugs help for a while, and they are approved by the “guidelines. So I follow the guidelines.” When I ask him “Do You Take The Drugs?” The answer is “No, but…”

After reading several books, including the title I mentioned in a previous post,  Niacin: The Real Story: Learn about the Wonderful Healing Properties of Niacin  – October 9, 2015 by Abram Hoffer M.D. Ph.D. (Author), Andrew W. Saul Ph.D. (Author), Harold D. Foster (Author), my conclusion is that the use of naturally occurring non-patentable Niacin is only actually a big threat to Drug Companies profit picture.

Of course depending on just health books runs the risk of killing myself with a misprint, but I never rely on just one book or just one source, and my wife and I do a LOT of digging and are very careful with everything we try.

Everyone is different, we are all outliers. There is no scientifically proven “standard” for nutrition that applies to all humans, and “daily recommended allowances are simply the opinion of the writers with no basis in research.

The start of this new health path for me was to STOP taking things (like food – otherwise known as “fasting”) and then try to find what worked and what was problematic in the whole food arena, a kind of “Trial by Error” with an “N” of 1.

The other big encouraging event in our lives was my daughter being able to “cure” her Bipolar disease, by weaning herself off of all psych meds over a period of two years, and adopting a regimen of nutrient supplements through “True Hope”.

So, we continue to soldier on here in the Shire, and business is steady because folks need to get their drugs (irony alert!) and we are considered “essential” along with Alcohol and Cannabis, and grocery stores.

We have to stay aware of the fact that none of this life style change provides an “instant fix”, it takes months and years of persistent change to see the results, but all the information is out there if you are willing to search and read broadly. So thank God for His blessings and take the long view – Eternity is real.

Here’s another couple or three more interesting books, one of which is unfortunately is not available on Kindle, but I ordered a hard copy anyway,  Goldberger’s War by Alan M. Kraut ,

Goldberger’s War is the story of one of the U.S. Public Health Service’s most renowned heroes–an immigrant Jew who trained as a doctor at Bellevue, became a young recruit to the federal government’s health service, and ended an American plague, Pellagra.

At the same time Canadian “authorities” banned his nutrient based solution allegedly because they didn’t want to “adulterate” our wheat flour. Instead, they chose to keep the Pellagra because it wasn’t as serious a problem here as it was in the the United States. I wonder who they blamed for that one … Trump wasn’t even born yet?????

Anyway, the second book is: “The Orthomolecular Treatment of Chronic Disease“. This is a GREAT BOOK.  At 800 pages, The Orthomolecular Treatment of Chronic Disease is a very large book, but it is also a very practical book. If you want to know which illnesses best respond to nutrition therapy, and how and why that therapy works, this is the book for you.

Part One presents the principles of orthomolecular medicine and the science behind them. Part Two is devoted to orthomolecular pioneers, presenting an introduction to maverick doctors and nutrition scientists in a reader-friendly way that brings the subject to life. Part Three brings together extraordinary clinical and experimental evidence from expert researchers and clinicians.

And, third, last but not least in my library of new books is also a hard copy of Jason Fung’s new book:  Life in The Fasting Lane.

I’ve talked glowingly about Dr. Fung before because his method has had such a life saving effect on my own existence so I will leave that to his blog site. I had to order it from Amazon.ca because Amazon.com wouldn’t ship a hard copy to Canada.

Of course, always remember my disclaimer here.

Cheers

Death of Self …

Mikoto”, by Kobudo, from the album “Ototabi”  (2013)

“There is something to be learned from a rainstorm. When meeting with a sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road. But doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you will still get the same soaking. This understanding extends to everything.”

Tsunetomo Yamamoto

As I remarked in a previous post, I have finally realized that it is impossible for a proud man to give himself humility … it is impossible for an impoverished man to give himself wealth … it is impossible for a sick man to give himself health.

Therefore, to be truly humble, that is genuinely humble, I have to apply myself first of all to humility of heart and continue to deepen the sincere recognition of my nothingness, my weakness. An important part of that recognition is a sincere acceptance of responsibility for my thoughts, words, and deeds. Isn’t it funny how accepting responsibility shows up as the foundation of every attempt to know oneself.

I must acknowledge and accept my faults and my failings without trying to assign any other case or cause for them than my own miserable failings. There are no reasonable excuses for bad talk, or bad behaviour, or bad thinking. My bad is just that … my bad. I cannot slough off responsibility for myself and my conduct by blaming others, or the situation I find myself in, or the actions or faults of others now or in the past. Only I am responsible,  and only I am to blame for what I do, or think, or say.

A quiet rainy day, and I am thinking on surrender… and freedom … not in opposition.  The question is really about surrender to the world and to chains of slavery to passions, or surrender to God and freedom from all the cares, fears, and anxieties of this world

Cheers

Joe

Just a little rough patch

Since 9/11 we have given up a lot of freedom quite willingly. The current round of restrictions courtesy of our made-in-government crisis is just another brick in the wall … but death of self and surrender to God transcends this world and it’s troubles …

People! It’s a “Figure of Speech” … Sheepdogs and Donkeys (end)

“Somewhere In Neverland”, All Time Low, from the album “Don’t Panic”, (2012)

Hey! Wake up! A metaphor is a figure of speech that identifies something as being the same as some unrelated thing for rhetorical effect, thus highlighting the similarities between the two. It is therefore considered more rhetorically powerful, or punchier, than a simile.

A metaphor is a type of analogy and is closely related to other rhetorical figures of speech which achieve their effects via association, comparison or resemblance – including allegory, hyperbole, and simile. In the case of the use of “sheepdog and wolves” for which bringing it into fashionable usage I am indebted to Lt Col David Grossman and others,  it is an allegorical metaphor, rather in the same vein as the old “3 little pigs” stories in the children’s fairy tales.

experts

Nobody believes for a second that certain types of humans are really like wolves and others are really like sheepdogs and others are like sheep, although the “AHA! Gotcha!” fervor with which all the usual suspects jump on it’s use tells me that they might just be fans of Being Liberal.

They really, really, really can’t handle it, when us guys do to them what those guys do all the time to us. I bet they had their own “airport moment” back in the 70’s. Maybe it gave them a sore throat … Awww.

Anyway, we need more emphasis on donkeys and less emphasis on sheepdogs. And while we are pointing fingers, the ongoing misuse of the “R-K” “behaviour theory” on certain websites is particularly annoying. Just because the kinda folks that put out sites like “Being Liberal” misuse stats and indulge in pseudo-scientific jargon to sugar coat their BS doesn’t mean it’s OK for the good guys to do it, any more than it was OK for the allies to put Germans in gas chambers just because the Germans put Jews in gas chambers.

My own bias’s are on full display in this post, obviously exhibited in the links I chose above. I acknowledge my bias’s and I own them. There are things in my life that, in retrospect, after 7 decades, I am not proud of and would do differently if I had a do-over, but my views of the LEFT of all stripes, Socialists, Communists, Fascists, and all the running dogs of evil in this world are deep seated, lifelong, and to change them I would have to surgically remove my brain.

Our cultural polarization of people by simplistic linear viewpoints based on whether or not we disagree with the person in question is the biggest product of the left in history. It is just another manifestation of childish cliques, and the school-yard hate phenomenon we all saw while growing. Simple BS presented because the writers feel that the audience is too stupid to know the difference and would agree anyway. Don’t do it! Rise above the temptation to join the evil in the cesspool because it’s easy and not fair that they do it. There’s always lots of flies on shit.

My bias’s are rooted in my passions and my pride, even my apologies are couched in “Yes, but …” terms. I am still attached to “being approved of” even by those who I understand could never approve of me in any way, shape, or form, as long as I hold the views, and beliefs that I do. But, I keep pointing to things and events which are undeniable, and hence unforgivable in some circles. I had one of these moments last February, 2019 here. Again, I apologize for offense given, “But Still It Moves”.

The Return of the King … Sheepdogs and Donkeys … part 4 …

Winterborn, This Sacrifice, The Cruxshadows, from the album “Frozen Embers”, 2003.

The “information” available to regular folks seems to be nothing but spin. Where are we to find even a hint of trustworthy truth? The credibility of all the established information sources is at an all time low. I use “LifeSite News” and “Duck Duck Go” as alternative sources which are out of step with the MSM, and Google, and the Wickedpedia, and YouTube, so I can get different input and different insights.

And mercifully, thanks to the Red Bat Flu and all the restrictions on our freedom (not to mention the disastrous economic impact), modern Canadian families have finally been forced to seriously reconsider what things and activities are truly important and what things and activities don’t really matter.

Recreation and education and health care and government services, and all information media have been rather dramatically redefined on the pretext that the authorities are “protecting” us. Many folks may not return to the old normal when the restrictions are lifted … if they are ever lifted.

Here is just one example of a news article that most MSM sites have not picked up. LifeSite News, a Catholic Pro-Life website has just released an up to date post thus:

Catholic clergy led by former papal nuncio Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò and Cardinals Gerhard Ludwig Mueller, Joseph Zen, and Janis Pujats have joined an appeal “for the Church and the world” that warns that the COVID-19 pandemic is being used as a “pretext” by world leaders to “control” people, strip them of their fundamental rights, while providing a “disturbing prelude to the realization of a world government beyond all control”

Read the whole article, it is worth it … and not just because I have been beating this drum for a few months now.

Things may well change when parents discover that they can cover the entire k-12 curriculum in a couple of hours of “On Task” focused work per day. In that new light, will they want to return to running their lives focused around the disastrously expensive agenda of the education system and teacher’s union priorities?

When families discover that they managed without doctors and nurses for several months and are actually healthier than when they started, in spite of all the uncertainty surrounding Red Bat Flu, will they have a different view of the disastrously expensive and intrusive health care systems imposed on us by our political and social masters?

When the only government services available come at the end of an hour or two long wait in a telephone queue, will they still feel the need for those now “non-essential” government services?

When families finally wake up to the realization that there is no main stream news or information service nor anything on social media that can be trusted as truthful or factual, will they start thinking, forming their own opinions and thoughts, based on something other than all these contaminated sources, these “experts” and social media gurus?

Or you can listen to the “experts” … Professor Neil Ferguson, the man behind the lockdown

With recent revelations about Professor Lockdown and his hypocrisy, and some extremely wild and other not-so-wild social media theories about Bill Gates owning the patent on COVID-19, it seems to me that the entire spectrum of opinions lack anything resembling credibility. A lot of screaming hysteria, but I find myself agreeing with Elon Musk, and disagreeing with the Gates Patent crowd.

Facebook touts the “International Fact-Checking Network” as it’s “independent, non partisan” fact checker, used to filter articles on Facebook, but IFCN is actually funded and promoted by NWO “Brights” like the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, the Duke Reporters’ Lab, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google (which owns YouTube), the National Endowment for Democracy, the Omidyar Network, the Open Society Foundations (Soros et al) and the Park Foundation.

I guess we are left with a huge credibility gap over the entire spectrum of news and opinion, and just have to start making up our own minds about who to trust. I am certain of one thing, that is one cannot trust any authority or media in and of this world. They all have an agenda and a purpose and our well-being is not part of that.

So, what to do and think? I continue to look at the rolls of sheepdogs and donkeys … and sheep of many folds … in the context of our polite society and of the Good Shepherd and the Return of the King.

For the last few months we have lived shut down and confined. Everything that we used to do, our daily activities and distractions, shut down by our “leaders”. Academia, and Worship went online, Recreation moved back to the kitchen from the bars and concert halls and arenas and clubs, Sports and leagues from midgets to pros disappeared overnight. And those who wanted or needed that sort of contact coped heroically with the changes, and for the most part without much complaint.

The lights stayed on and the gas kept flowing, groceries still showed up at the food stores, drug stores stayed open, the mail kept coming, and all the grid of truly “essential” services kept functioning thanks to the legion of faceless donkeys out there working away unsung in the background.

Most folks handled things pretty well in spite of the media engendered fear mongering. A few people lost it and went on rampages and the “sheepdogs” were there to handle things.

So first let’s look at the sheepdogs, here is one point of view … I used to believe I was a sheepdog … I used to feel good about being a sheepdog … I used to feel good about being different. Maybe this metaphor is a lot less useful now that I no longer feel good about being different, but things are what they are.

And, as the linked article says, the sheepdog disturbs the sheep. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land and they can’t deal with the wolves. They would prefer that the sheepdog didn’t tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports in fatigues holding an “Assault Weapon”,  or patrolling the skies and the sea lanes. The sheep would much rather have the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, “Baa.”

This divide between the sheepdogs and the sheep, is an artificial construct, “made in government” and in the MSM, to keep us fractured into our little xenophobic tribes. Until the wolf shows up. Then the entire flock, of every fold, tries desperately to hide behind the  lonely sheepdogs. And here is the ultimate tragedy, or irony if you look at it that way. The wolves outside the walls get all the attention, all the hype, they are the ones who get all the media attention with endless debates about terrorists and freedom fighters, and so on.

Sheepdogs …

And meanwhile the 5th column apparatchiks inside the walls have poisoned the sheep against the sheepdogs. Now the sheep are taught (thank you very much academia) that the sheep ARE entitled to want whatever they want ,and to think whatever they think, and to believe that they can do pretty much whatever they please ,as long as it doesn’t threaten the 5th column and they are taught that the sheepdogs are somehow the bad guys because they have guns.

BAN THE GUNS!!!!!!   Whatever …

The big weakness the blind spot, of the sheepdogs is that they must not and cannot turn on the 5th column. They literally cannot bite the hand that feeds or they become wolves. And here is a link to how that part of the story turns out. This another point of view somewhat different from the previously linked article about sheepdogs..

And then there are the donkeys, the real heroes, the ones who keep on going no matter the lies of this world.

In case the point of this epistle seems to have wandered off into obscure tracks it should be noted that we are talking about the hallmarks of evil here … now, under the current spotlight, in the midst of our “made-in-government” Red Bat Flu pandemic. It’s gone on long enough now for us to notice things, that it’s not difficult for anyone to see the evidence these days. By their works shalt thou know them.

The point of this series of posts is that the focus of our lives should be on the the how and why of giving of self … giving to and for others … helping and working on what we have in front of us, the things we can actually accomplish in our daily lives, with a view to eternity. We should not be haring off against some new windmill or some long dead horse, some “save the planet” credo, which mission is doomed to failure even before it even gets started.

I have spent some time in the last two posts identifying those actors I see doing what seems evil to me in our current landscape, identified by their works – what the actual intended results of the perpetrators’ actions are, not what they loudly proclaim to be their intentions, policies and designs.

I used to think of myself as a sheepdog, but now I more and more see myself as a donkey … no longer focusing on mission impossible – fixing the world …  but rather on what can I actually accomplish for good. These posts are really about the choosing of sides and the importance of choosing the right side, for all eternity.

Oh blessed perseverance of the donkeys

The donkeys, (who I now admire most of all the players), do all the daily work of keeping the machinery of life running smoothly.

Oh blessed perseverance of the donkeys that turn the water-wheels  and the grindstones and the mills and the looms! Always the same pace. Always the same circles. One day after another: everyday the same. Without that monotonous daily grind, there would be no ripeness in the fruit, no bread, no blossom in the orchard, no scent of flowers in the gardens, nor anything else that we simply take for granted in our lives” (I forget where I got that bit, but it’s nice)…

water, heat, light, gas, food, shelter, phones, and internet, and cars, and entertainment, and so on ad infinitum, all totally dependent on the efforts of countless donkeys going about their daily regimen day after day. I know this because I worked for a while as a donkey (janitor) in the public school system in a medium sized city in our fair land. That was way back before the government banned schools to protect us from the Red Bat Flu.

Anyway, I sometimes feel sad while observing that the sheep and the little lambs, especially, take all that the donkeys do for them totally for granted because they are never taught how things work and why. You know who I mean, the invisible people, the janitors, the fuel truck drivers, the elevator technicians, the power company employees, the plumbers, and electricians, and mechanics, and garbage men, and hospital orderlies, and pipeline workers, and civil engineers, and project managers, and the myriad other “essential trades” without whom our entire civilization would collapse utterly within weeks.

Instead, the sheep and the lambs are taught to feel good about themselves because they breathe, and are taught to think and talk and vote the right way for the right candidates. They can’t read or write but little Johnny needs his fix of self respect or he won’t grow up OK, he’ll be “stunted”. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2002, and all that dreck. See how it’s such a blessing that the government shut down all the schools to protect us?

5th Column …

The sheep and the lambs only ever notice what the donkeys do when it is missing for some reason, and then instead of being grateful for all the countless days when everything works they bitch the one time things don’t work. They completely miss the miracle of the countless days.

And the beautiful young empty heads look down on the donkeys and treat them with disrespect because, well, that’s what their teachers do … not all, but most. They don’t look as smart and as beautiful and as articulate as the brights running the show and that attitude is what gets taught to the empty minds in the desks.

So, the donkeys are just stupid, ugly, I don’t know, well, they are just donkeys, ya know what I mean?  “Oh Miss Simpson … the toilet is plugged.”  “OK, just call the donkey, it needs to be fixed as soon as possible”.  No discussion about how the toilet got plugged, or who is supposed to teach the empty minds that you are supposed to eat what ever you put in the toilet BEFORE you put it in the toilet.

So that vignette captures what our fearless leaders have now shut down,  and they have inadvertently given everybody a “time-out” and a chance to realize just how wrong headed the whole public education “system” has been for years. Pray God they arrive at appropriate conclusions and don’t just turn all the children back over to the state machine as soon as they are able.

But, all these well trained little consumers grow up trusting government, and teachers, and talking heads. And in spite of all the propaganda, and noise, and smokescreen, and indoctrination, nothing that matters comes from guv’mint. We have already been going through this mill for three generations or so and it may already be too late … time will tell. If you want to see the logical and material result of the guv’mint taking control of EVERYTHING, just take a look at North Korea,  where they apparently had no COVID-19 deaths at all according to the big Johns Hopkins University pandemic stats site.

There is no possible way that a reasonable case can be made that guv’mint has the best interests of the folks at heart. One has to willfully choose self interest over helping others to seek employment in gov’mint. No one seriously believes that most gov’mint employees are there to sacrifice for the public … that they are REALLY “public servants”.

Everyone, including most guv’mint employees, especially management, know full well that they enter gov’mint employ because it’s an easy gig, if they follow the party line and kiss the right asses. There’s lots of benefits and they might have to actually do something tangible for two or three hours a day and all the rest is coffee break, and lunch breaks, and smoke breaks, and socializing, you know the old saw about “safety meetings” – “nobody moves and nobody gets hurt”. 15 years of “government service” under my belt, and working my way up the food chain, and the penny finally drops … it’s not fixable. (I guess I’m a slow learner)

difficult, dirty, dangerous jobs in REAL public service

Sure, there are lots of folks doing difficult, dirty, dangerous jobs in REAL public service but even in the “public service” these folks are always on the lower rungs.

The self interested, ambitious employees hurry up and move up the ladder until they don’t have to work any more, they just supervise and make rules.

Or they move up into higher positions in the unions. Self interest is a wonderful thing ain’t it?

Take epidemiologists in academia and government, for example … Please take them far far away to another planet, preferably with a methane atmosphere! … My respect for epidemiologists is lower than my respect for left-wing journalists and politicians. If anyone, anywhere, is aware of one  epidemiologists anywhere who ever failed to increase the sum of human misery, I have not yet heard of them.

The moment the first guv’mint official, backed up by scientific “experts”, used the fateful words “the people” or “the voters” or “the proletariat“, or “the constituents“, instead of “John” and “Mary” and “Joe” and so on, they stopped being “of the people, by the people, for the people” and joined the wolf-pack as wolves or as their jackal scavengers.

But our guv’mint official are “stealth” wolves, and jackals, because they have brains enough to rig the game in their favour but not enough balls to come out into the open – which is maybe pretty smart on their part, all things considered. If they were honest about how things work they would be strung up by the poor sucker sheep they are milking.

And the 5th column keep putting wedges between the sheep and the sheepdogs to maintain control over both and none dare call it conspiracy. Since at least the 60’s and 70’s all the usual useful idiots have had a field day dissing the sheepdogs, not because they knew anything real about them but simply because it was “Cool” to hate “The Man”, right Bill Ayers?

And it was all a lie, they knew they were safe. The sheepdogs would never bite them. All very courageous that. Like attacking Christians while carefully avoiding pissing off the Islamics.

And you gotta know that there is nothing particularly morally superior about being a sheepdog; it is just what you choose to be. As the above linked article pointed out: (you must) understand that a sheepdog is a funny critter: “He is always sniffing around out on the perimeter, checking the breeze, barking at things that go bump in the night, and yearning for a righteous battle“.

That is, the young sheepdogs yearn for a righteous battle. The old sheepdogs are a little older and wiser, but they move to the sound of the guns when needed right along with the young ones. And, lucky for the enlightened ones in power, the sound of the guns never includes the sheep unless they are victims, so the sheepdogs are really no threat to the 5th column at all.

Here is how the sheep and the sheepdog think differently. The sheep pretend the wolf will never come, but the sheepdog lives for that day.

After the attacks on September 11, 2001, (Remember that day?) most of the sheep, that is, most citizens in North America said, “Thank God I wasn’t on one of those planes.”

The sheepdogs, the warriors, said, “Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could have made a difference.”

When you are truly transformed into a warrior and have truly invested yourself into warrior-hood, you want to be there. You want to be able to make a difference.  You NEED to make a difference.

As mentioned, there is nothing morally superior about the sheepdog, the warrior, but he does have one real advantage. Only one. And that is that he is able to survive and thrive in an environment that destroys 98 percent of the population. Because of that he is the only threat to the predator and the predator knows this.

There was research conducted a few decades ago with individuals convicted of violent crimes. These cons were in prison for serious, predatory crimes of violence: assaults, murders and killing law enforcement officers. The vast majority said that they specifically targeted victims by body language: slumped walk, passive behavior and lack of awareness. They chose their victims like big cats do in Africa, when they select one out of the herd or the flock that is least able to protect itself. The predators sense weakness.

Satan

The Prince of This World …

Both the violent psychopathic predators, and the stealthy 5th column predators sense their victim’s weakness. The 5th column, in particular, sense both the weakness and ignorance of their victims and also are very aware of their own weakness, hence their colossal need to hide that weakness deep and dark, far way from the light. The First Commandment of all 5th columnists is “Thou Shalt Cover Thy Ass”.

So my people, regardless of the soft lies of the Prince of this world, there is no comfort or safety in ignoring evil or giving in to evil. No satisfaction in self indulgence.  “There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil of evil men“. – Edmund Burke.

As I get older and more experienced and less convinced that I can “save the world” by being a good sheepdog, I more and more realize and truly believe that the real heroes are the donkeys.

They move under the radar working steadily, you know the sayings: “same old, same old”, “same shit different day”, “just another shitty day in paradise”, and a host of other dry witticisms, working away every day to protect the folks from the 5th column and the little weasley predators prowling within the walls.

They do this by simply doing their jobs, their invisible essential jobs, to the best of their ability, regardless of how they are treated.

So we “gird our loins” and prepare to go on, and on and on, doing everything, with nothing, forever … “Stranger passing by, tell the Lakedaimonians. Here we lie, having obeyed their orders.” Leonidas. 480 BC.  If we fail to grasp that true life is about sacrifice and serving others, even unrecognized, then we are doomed to die for all eternity.

“… Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;  One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” Tennyson, “Ulysses“. Noble sentiments for a banal and heroic life of sacrifice.

The Return of the King … Sheepdogs and Donkeys … part 3 …

Twilight And Shadow”, Howard Shore, from “Lord Of The Rings

Remember … back before “Social Distancing”?

It should be very obvious to everyone who has even one eye and ear open, and with our most important continuous droning media event being the ongoing FUD drama of our “made-in-government” Red Bat Flu pandemic, that ‘Evil” exists. There are lots of places where good is absent.

There are places where government control includes killing regular folks on a regular basis out in the open, but in most places, in the West, that all happens in the shadows. Our government kills about a million of us a year but it is all covered up in euphemisms and double speak and buried in our health care stats.

You better believe it, and we don’t even have to look overseas to find them.  There are lots of evil men in this world and they are capable of horribly evil deeds. If you forget that or pretend, as so many do, it is not true, that evil doesn’t exist, you self select for the sheep team.

As David Warren writes:

“The daily count of deaths from the Red Chinese Batflu is among the prized, scare-mongering features of our mass media. I am among those who consider these numbers to be significantly overstated, for a reason that Nikolai Gogol would understand.

Each corpse is worth cash to some public authority, usually from a higher authority; and as always, finally from the taxpayers. Each also saves money for government programmes, that can be reallocated to the purchase of new votes. As the corpse providers from this virus are very old, and suffering from other life-threatening conditions, in almost every case, this statistical inflation is easy to perform.

Death certificates are issued for any who died with “Covid-19,” whether or not they died from it, and more are then added of those who were never tested. Anything respiratory will do. It’s all judgement calls — on which side of the bread is buttered.

Compare if you will the Hong Kong Flu of 1968 and 1969. I was just reading a memoir, from down that memory hole. The death toll was actually higher then, than ours is now, and from within a smaller population; the victims included children and the young. Yet there were no interruptions in economic life; no public emergency theatricals; and at the height of the second wave of that scourge, we had events like Woodstock. (Those were the days, my friend.)”

And for all of us, there is no safety in denial. No refuge in refusing to see, and no insult or belittling about this. It is simply choosing to live in reality, or denying reality.  Most of the people in our society are sheep. Most of the people live in denial. As I have said previously, they are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident. There is no mortal malice in them.

The truth is, our society is like “… the pretty, blue robin’s egg. Inside it is soft and gooey, and someday it may grow into something wonderful. But the egg cannot survive without its hard blue shell“. LTC (RET) Dave Grossman,  author of “On Killing.”   If you find you can handle that book then check out “On Combat”  and The Bulletproof Mind.  Soldiers, sailors, Police officers, Firemen, Para-medics and other warriors are like that shell, and someday the civilization they protect will grow into something wonderful, a civilization that they protect from the enemy, the wolves.

So, for example, I have a little flash-back from over 40 years ago when I routinely spent over 300 days a year at sea because the Liberal guv’mint, the red jackals of the Cold War, saw us as the problem and ran us permanently at less than half strength, under paid, and under supplied, doing everything in their legal power to deplete us, the better to hinder the Americans, while still demanding that we give them cover by “doing everything, with nothing, forever”:

The Naval Prayer

O Eternal Lord God,
who alone rulest the raging of the sea;
who has compassed the waters with bounds
until day and night come to an end;
be pleased to receive into Thy almighty and most gracious protection
the persons of us Thy servants,
and the Fleet in which we serve.

Preserve us from the dangers of the sea,
and from the violence of the enemy;
that we may be a safeguard unto our most gracious Sovereign Lady,
Queen Elizabeth,
and her Dominions,
and a security for such as pass upon the seas upon their lawful occasions;
that the inhabitants of our Commonwealth may in peace and quietness
serve Thee our God;
and that we may return in safety
to enjoy the blessings of the land,
with the fruits of our labours,
and with a thankful remembrance of Thy mercies
to praise and glorify Thy Holy Name;
Amen.

First published in 1662 in the Book of Common Prayer,
The Naval Prayer has remained mostly unchanged since then,
with the exception of a change to the name of the monarch

That comes under the heading of “Tradition”. To stand between the pretty blue egg and the enemy. To be a safeguard and a security. To serve the Master, the True Good Shepherd.

Lobos Vestido de Oveja

And the enemies of that pretty blue egg are all around, in the form of the usual legion of killers and terrorists, and criminals, and so on.

But there are others in the shadows, even more dangerous, enemies, “stealth” enemies, the jackals in the deadly 5th column of gov’mint officials, and teachers, and administrators, and unionists, and economists, and central bankers, and politicians, and bureaucrats, and the state sponsored media,  who want to keep the sheep under control and stupid so that  they can turn them into lamb-chops – metaphorically of course – after all, where do taxes come from?

It was a sad day, and also a most important day in my military service when I realized, like a blast of lightning, one dark day of storm, in the Baltic Sea, that the most dangerous enemy we faced was back home in the Capital and the Administration. A shocking and saddening realization that the chestless ones, our leaders and intellectuals and academics and media wankers thought of us,  the security, the guys and gals in uniform,  as “the enemy”. Because they chose the “self interest” side of the coin (see previous post) and they had subverted the polity. That they had mutinied against the True King, our Master and now served only themselves.

Greta … a perfectly molded child, eh?

So how did teachers make the list above? Let me be clear, there are indeed many teachers who have done and continue do exemplary service to and for the people they teach. I am NOT talking about those teachers. I included teachers in the list above because the good teachers have been eclipsed by the “Teachers” the administrators and unionists who  collude in this process of subversion as the first line of indoctrination, because their “careers” depend on it and they are highly rewarded for “buying into the meme”.

They are the primary interface between young folks and the gov’mint. They “teach” young people to become sheep, scorn their family, revere their peers and the power teachers at the top of their social pyramid, or at least weed out the non-sheep as “trouble-makers”.  We give our children to these minions, most of whom have never done anything in their lives except go to school, first as students and then as teachers.

They know nothing of real life in the trenches, always part of the Kool crowd, no sacrifice, no self determination, but they have indeed drunk deeply of the chestless Kool-Aid and got their tickets punched by the right authorities  These very well paid know-nothings are now, for the last two or three generations, given our children by our masters to mold as the bad shepherds see fit.

Can anyone remember “1984”? Big Brother knows best …

Teachers in sheep’s clothing, to instruct the young, not in the higher things of life like values and ethics and morals, but rather to turn them into good little compliant, consuming, self centered, lamb-chops who won’t ask questions and will more or less do as they are told by their enlightened betters.  BAAAA!  Everybody Stay Home! BOHICA!

Then there are the legions of administrators who have the power to punish the sheep if they fail to “get in line”.

And then you have the central bankers and gov’mint ministers who have the power (for example) to create fiat money at will with printing presses and thereby deplete and dilute the savings and destroy the security of the sheep at will, and many other shady evils which it would take several posts to go into so I will leave that for another day.

On the bright side, there are the donkeys. … luv those donkeys …

To be continued …

The Return of the King … Sheepdogs and Donkeys … part 2

“Oboe Concerto In D Minor: 2. Adagio”, Heinz Hollinger, Members of the Staatskapelle Dresden & Vittorio Negri, from the album “The Ultimate Baroque”, 2004

Finished watching “Lord of the Rings” multi hour movie Sunday evening with the family, must be about the 6th or 7th time along with about half a dozen reads through the hard cover 3 volume set over the last 20 years or so.

Raised my daughter on LOTR rather than Harry Potter … it makes a difference which is only apparent to those who don’t go down the Potter path.

One of my favorite passages: “It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule.” Tolkien, “The Return of the King

Honor, Faith, loyalty, competence, pride, selflessness, integrity, courage, discipline, sacrifice,  tradition,  virtues to live by. The virtues we strive to live by, for better or for worse, in sickness or in health, onto death or the end of the world in spite of everything the world throws at us in it’s effort to deny life.

The thing that all of these virtues or qualities have in common at their root is they are all about “Giving”  to others. Giving away what we have and are for the benefit of others, even unto death. To develop these “characteristics” one has to live them, repeat them, over, and over, and over, until the repetition ingrains them so deeply into every cell of our being that thought never enters into it. it just IS the way you live, as natural as breathing.

From generation to generation … take up the torch …

Aristotle makes this point about the virtues in general, with courage as one of the virtues he addresses. As he notes in his Nicomachean Ethics, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”  For Aristotle, the key to virtuous behavior (to include courageous behavior) is habituation. We have to habituate ourselves to facing fear and reacting courageously. A great deal of military training focuses on exactly that — the formation of certain military virtues through repetitive training.

The corollary is, of course, that choosing self indulgence also becomes ingrained. We become what we do. “Giving” to others or “Taking” from others for ourselves are the two sides of the coin. We choose what we become. It is so simple that few acknowledge it, because to do so would mean having to take responsibility for our lives.

Not being responsible has become, in our modern culture, literally a “get out of jail free” card. We can do and demand whatever we want and if anyone tries to stop us or hold us accountable THEY are the bad guy. We are habituated, but not towards virtue.

Honor and loyalty are kind of like a religion, a part of our religion. It is a religious experience.  It’s a belief in the standards, values, morals of an organization and an adherence to them, [but] . . . it’s not a mindless adherence. . . .

*Image: Christ the King (a.k.a. The Almighty or God the Father)by Jan van Eyck, c. 1425 [St. Bavo’s Cathedral, Ghent, Belgium]. This is the Deisis (representation of Christ in majesty), central panel in the inner section of the Ghent Altarpiece

Duty, honor, sacrifice: You have a duty, and by properly executing your duty you cause an honor to be associated with yourself,  your profession and your beliefs. “Now do I swear fealty and service to our Lord, to speak and to be silent, to do and to let be, to come and to go, in need or plenty, in peace or war, in living or dying, from this hour henceforth, until my Lord calls me home, or the world’s end“.

Which brings us to Sheepdogs and Donkeys …

Honor never grows old, and honor rejoices the heart of age. It does so because honor is, finally, about defending those noble and worthy things that deserve defending, even if it comes at a high cost. In our time, that may mean social disapproval, public scorn, hardship, persecution, or as always, even death itself. The question remains: What is worth defending? What is worth dying for? What is worth living for?”William J. Bennett – in a lecture to the United States Naval Academy November 24, 1997

What is worth defending? What is worth living for? What is worth dying for?  In a nutshell? People … the folks … because they are intrinsically valuable, made by God, loved by God, and worthwhile as individuals and as a group. and, for the most part, utterly defenseless.

They are so defenseless that they don’t even know that they are defenseless. They are, in this aspect, like sheep. Make no mistake about it gentle reader … there is evil out there … there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? 8 years in the Military followed by 10 years in the Corrections Service teaches one the reality of evil people. Evil is nothing more than the “absence of good”, and therein lies a whole world of hurt.

In any manifestation of evil the underlying or sometimes overt aspect of evil, the “dead” giveaway, is how the actors value and treat ordinary people. In each and every instance without exception the manner in which any person, organization or ideology treats ordinary people is the hallmark of which side they fall on.

And no matter what the mental and rhetorical gymnastics the perpetrators go through there are ONLY two sides. You are either on the side of the Angels, or on the side of the Demons. There is no middle ground.

Even refusing to choose, denying that there is a choice is merely to choose self indulgence and everything which that implies. There are no votes of “Present”, to option to “Abstain”, in real life. We are living today in a time of jackals, the wolves are just outside the walls waiting for the jackals to open the gates, waiting, just waiting, sure of the outcome.

Good Shepherd Sunday … of Sheepdogs and Donkeys … part 1

Michi Haruka”, by Kobudo, from the album “Ototabi”  (2013)

Well, today is “Good Shepherd Sunday, in Canada, in the Novus Ordo Liturgy. And wherever there are shepherds and sheep, there also one finds sheepdogs, and yes, donkeys. So, why “Good Shepherd” Sunday? … the short answer in found in John 10:

1“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. 2“But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. 3“To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4“When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5“A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them.

7So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8“All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9“I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

11“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. 12“He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13“He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep. 14“I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, 15even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16“I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd. 17“For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. 18“No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”

*****

Yes, Jesus used a “figure of speech” in his parable of the Good Shepherd, and the “not so good” shepherds who were identified clearly as “thieves and robbers” who see the wolf coming and leave the sheep and flee because they are hired hands and are not concerned for the sheep.

thieves and robbers

Figures of speech lend themselves to shining a light on the political and social goings on all around us in these days. Yesterday’s post takes one down a grim path filled with evil and corruption … bad shepherds on steroids … and leaves us with a feeling of anger and despair. Despair because there is nothing that we “sheep” can do about the bad shepherds and the wolves.

And any sheep who dares to raise a voice and point out the danger is cut down and butchered. The bad shepherds all around us chanting “Mint Sauce! Mint Sauce!” as they stretch out their claws to restrict our freedoms and control our lives in ever finer minutia.

“These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time,” Trudeau said. “There is no use and no place for such weapons in Canada. Well, DUH! I have no doubts about why Liberals everywhere are afraid of guns.

So the bad shepherds place ever tighter controls on the sheep, even though “The RCMP has confirmed that the Nova Scotia shooter used firearms obtained illegally in Canada and from U.S. sources to carry out his crimes. He was not licensed to own firearms.” and the people our government is actually targeting by this sort of control are all the people who are licensed gun owners. No criminals will register or turn in a single rifle. This move is entirely political. Illegal firearms from U.S. sources are used in 70 to 90 per cent of all gun-related crimes.

The government’s ban is “symbolism over substance,” and does nothing to target smugglers or those who illegally modify firearms. In other words, no one is actually serious about controlling the wolves. But it is even worse than that. It is more than just “symbolism”. This whole effort is yet another attempt, in the never ending attempts, by Liberals to disarm the Canadian population whom they deeply fear.

Yet again a tragedy is used to forward an agenda, this Nova Scotia tragedy is being used as an opportunity for our government masters, our bad shepherds, to disarm the population, exactly the same way every totalitarian regime in history has done with their population.

Our Liberal Canadians, all of them, the politicos, the bureaucrats, and the urban voters in their coffee shops and office towers who support them, are already complicit in killing over 100,000 helpless innocent people a year. That’s a gang war of unprecedented magnitude, and they really, really, really, want to expand the set of “helpless” to include all us peons in flyover country, to more easily control and punish us if we don’t obey their every whim. No Canadian city dweller objected to all the violations of human rights that rolled in during the Red Bat Flu pandemic. They all just bent over and complied … FUD and FOMO in action.

Anyway, what has all this to do with The Good Shepherd, and Sheepdogs, and Donkeys?  Well, one has to be able to understand “bad shepherds” and “wolves” and recognize who and what they are, and how they act, in order to be able to recognize and understand The Good Shepherd’s voice and what He is always telling us.

Moral Courage and Our Common Future …

This is one of my longer posts but I believe that the spread of the information contained here is essential given what we are witnessing right before our eyes in the midst of our very own “Made in Wuhan” Red Bat Flu pandemic and the massive economic and human rights fallout flowing from the pandemic.

I have been harping on, off and on, for years now on our cultural or societal lack of moral courage and our unwillingness as a “polite society” to deal in facts and truth, and our morbid desire to “get along, go along” rather than following the truth. I have written here,  and here,  about meaning, and the misuse of language, and the conflation of authority and assumptions leading to disasters unending.

These and other posts were written well before the current cluster frack of misdirection, fear, uncertainty, and doubt surrounding the “Great Red Bat Flu pandemic of 2020”, I feel sort of “prescient” witnessing the current proliferation of twisted meaning, misused language, missused statistics, conflation of authority,  assumptions, and all producing a prevalent climate of fear and compliance amongst the ignorant victims of this full court press by all the usual suspects.

And now they want to scare us into surrendering our guns on the pretext that they, the government, will protect us from a repeat of the recent Nova Scotia massacree by a shooter and arsonist disguised as an RCMP officer. All they need is “compliance”, such a nice clean sanitary word for “Official” school yard bullying. Aren’t there laws now against bullying? Oh, right, it’s not bullying if the government is doing it for political reasons. It’s just a complete ban on 1500 types “assault style” weapons and potentially all hand guns being threatened by Boy Justin in an attempt to bolster his re-election campaign with city dwellers, the same crowd who are so terrified about the Red Bat Flu.

Will the Feds ban police cars and police uniforms and house fires at the same time???? Maybe … don’t need uniforms and marked cars when your running a Secret Police State. I wonder where Justin’s Chinese police “advisors” are staying while they help implement the new gun bans? Maybe in the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa just down the road from Rideau Cottage?

There is obviously a desperate need, in this country, for precision in speaking, and writing and other forms of communication, and for those in command and in the media to stop bullshitting us because they simply “don’t know”. Even South Africa figured out how to organize “Truth” commissions.

But, the point, the point, … I have recently started reading a new book… OH NO!  A NEW BOOK! SAVE US!

Well, maybe someone will find it as interesting and compelling as me, who knows. The book is Plague of Corruption: Restoring Faith in the Promise of Science“, by Kent Heckenlively and Judy Mikovits. Instead of writing praise for a book I am still working my way through I am going to simply post the entire Forward by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. It is long, chilling, and well worth the read.

Moral Courage and Our Common Future by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

“And yet, it moves!” Galileo whispered those defiant words in 1615 as he left the Roman Inquisition tribunal before which he repudiated his theory that the Earth—the immovable center of the Universe according to contemporary orthodoxy—revolves around the sun. Had he not recanted, his life would be forfeit. We like to think of Galileo’s struggles as the quaint artifact of a dark, ignorant, and tyrannical era where individuals challenged government-anointed superstitions only at grave personal risk.

Dr. Judy Mikovits’ story shows that stubborn orthodoxies anointed by pharmaceutical companies and corrupt government regulators to protect power and profits remain a dominant force in science and politics. By any standard, Dr. Judy Mikovits was among the most skilled scientists of her generation. She entered professional science from the University of Virginia with a BA degree in chemistry on June 10, 1980, as a protein chemist for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) working on a life-saving project to purify interferon. The quality of her work and her reliable flashes of genius soon propelled her to the apex of the male-dominated world of scientific research.

At NCI, Mikovits began what would become a twenty-year collaboration with Dr. Frank Ruscetti, a pioneer in the field of human retrovirology. While heading up the lab of Robert Gallo in 1977, Ruscetti made scientific history by codiscovering with Bernie Poiesz the first human retrovirus, HTLV-1 (human T-cell leukemia virus). A retrovirus is a “stealth virus” that, like HIV, enters the host without alerting the immune systems. It may then lie dormant for years without causing harm. Before killing a person, a retrovirus will usually destroy their immune system. As a result, many retroviruses cause cancer.

With an escalating understanding of retrovirus behavior, the Ruscetti/ Mikovits collaboration and Mikovits’s award-winning PhD thesis from George Washington University in 1991 changed the paradigm of HIV-AIDS treatment, turning the disease from a death sentence into a manageable condition. From the outset, the most daunting obstacle to Mikovits’ career advancement was her scientific integrity. She always placed it ahead of personal ambition. Judy Mikovits never meant to wade into a public health brawl. She never considered herself a renegade or revolutionary. Judy’s relatives mainly worked in government or law enforcement. They believed in the bedrock American principles of hard work, respect for authority, and, above all, telling the truth.

That backdrop made it impossible for her to abandon her high natal standards of honesty and integrity even when they became a hindrance. After leaving NIH, she worked a stint for Upjohn—leading a project to prove the safety of the company’s blockbuster Bovine Growth Hormone. When Mikovits discovered the company’s formula could cause precancerous changes in human cell cultures, she refused direct orders from her boss to hide her discoveries. Mikovits’ revelation suggested that the ubiquitous presence of the hormone in milk could lead to breast cancer in women who drank it. Her refusal to back down precipitated her departure from Upjohn and her return to NIH and graduate school. Judy’s war on BGH eventually led to Upjohn abandoning the product.

In 2009, now in academia, Mikovits and Ruscetti, who was still at NCI, led a team that discovered a strong association between a previously unknown retrovirus and myalgic encephalomyelitis, commonly known as chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Predictably, the retrovirus was also linked to certain blood cancers. Collaborators had named it Xenotropic Murine Leukemia Related Virus (XMRV), when they first detected (it) in DNA sequences in prostate cancer a few years earlier.

The medical community had dealt with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which strikes mostly women, in bad faith since its appearance in the mid-1980s. The medical establishment derided ME/CFS as “yuppie flu” and attributed it to the inherent psychological fragility of career women pursuing professions in high-pressure corporate ecosystems. Mikovits found evidence for the retrovirus in approximately 67 percent of women afflicted with ME/CFS, and in a little less than 4 percent of the healthy population.

On October 8, 2009, Mikovits and Ruscetti published their explosive findings in the journal Science, describing the first-ever isolation of the recently discovered retrovirus XMRV, and its association to ME/CFS. Her revelation about ME/CFS immediately triggered angry reactions from jealous cancer power centers, stubbornly resistant to science that attributed cancer and neuroimmune diseases to viruses.

The blowback grew even grimmer when Mikovits’ subsequent research suggested that the new retrovirus, originally found in mice, had somehow jumped into humans via contaminated vaccines. Even more troubling to the medical establishment, Dr. Mikovits’ research revealed that many of the female patients afflicted with XMRV had children with autism. Suspecting XMRV might be passed from mother to child, as with HIV, Mikovits tested seventeen of the children. Fourteen showed evidence of the virus.

Those findings dovetailed with parental reports of autistic regression following vaccination. Subsequent studies linked XMRV to epidemics in leukemia, prostate cancer, autoimmune disease, and the explosion of Alzheimer’s disease. Worse yet, research also found widespread XMRV contamination in the blood supply and blood products. Based on her research and the findings of others, it seemed that anywhere from 3 to 8 percent of the population now carry the virus—XMRV has become part of human ecology, passed from mother to child in vitro or through breast milk.

Mikovits’ data suggest that more than ten million Americans are harboring this virus like a ticking time bomb—a potential threat far greater than the HIV-AIDS epidemic. In January of 2011, HIV-AIDS expert Ben Berkhout published these explosive revelations in the journal Frontiers in Microbiology. He included Mikovits’ evidence that mouse tissue used in vaccine production was the likely vector for human contamination.

Unbeknownst to Judy, her co-author on this book, Kent Heckenlively, had already independently discovered published medical research showing that the first recorded outbreak of ME/CFS was among 198 doctors and nurses at the Los Angeles County Hospital in 1934–1935, following their injection with an experimental polio vaccine grown in mouse brain tissue.

Mikovits’ evidence threatened financial catastrophe for the world’s pharmaceutical companies because of their negligent use of animal cell cultures to produce vaccines and other pharmaceutical products. Her findings put at risk billions of dollars of revenues from an entire branch of medicine called “biologics,” which depends on animal tissue and products.

Pharmaceutical companies and their captive regulators unleashed a furious broadside against Mikovits and Ruscetti, besieging them from every stronghold. The journal Science feverishly pressed Mikovits to retract her October 2009 article. In September of 2011, the Whittemore Peterson Institute at the University of Nevada, Reno, fired Judy from her faculty job. Judy and her family noticed menacing-looking men following her in pickup trucks and other incidents indicating she was under surveillance. In one incident, burley thugs surrounded her home and forced her to flee in a boat. After she escaped, they barged into her home, claiming to work for the government.

In November, Ventura Police arrested Judy without a warrant and held her in jail for five days without bail. The police searched her house from top to bottom, strewing her papers everywhere. That same day, cops raided the home of her friend, Lilly, and forced her to sit in a chair for several hours while they ransacked the building. NIH officials told Nevada police that Dr. Mikovits had illegally taken her research notebooks from their lab. This was a fabricated charge. As the principal investigator on two government grants, it was Dr. Mikovits’ obligation to retain all of her research papers . . . Furthermore, Judy had left all of the notebooks in her university office on September 29.

That same day, someone illegally burglarized Judy’s office, removed her notebooks, and then somehow planted them in a closet of her home, apparently to incriminate her. Weeks later, as Judy languished in a cell, her husband, David, found the journals neatly packed in a linen beach bag in an obscure closet in her Southern California home. David frantically took them to the jail after midnight and then handed them over to Ventura Police. While she was in jail, Judy’s former boss told her husband and Dr. Ruscetti that if she just signed an apology admitting her paper was wrong, the police would release her from confinement and she could salvage her science career. Judy refused.

No prosecutor has ever filed charges against her, but the pharmaceutical cartel and its captive scientific journals launched a campaign of vilification against her. Less than two years earlier, the journal Science had celebrated her. Now, the same journal published her mug shot and retracted her paper. Judy lost federal grants for which she was the principal investigator. She has gone bankrupt trying to find work and restore her good name.

The scientific journals, admittedly all now controlled by Big Pharma, have refused to publish her papers. The NIH medical libraries have locked her out. Despite spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, she has not been able to get her day in court. The US Attorney in Nevada has kept the case “under seal” for years. Fraudulent acts of public health officials at the highest levels of Health and Human Services (HHS) have effectively rendered her unemployable.

The persecution of scientists and doctors who dare to challenge contemporary orthodoxies did not take a rest after Galileo: it has always been, and remains today, an occupational hazard. Henrik Ibsen’s 1882 play An Enemy of the People is a parable for the pitfall of scientific integrity. Ibsen tells the story of a doctor in southern Norway who discovers that his town’s popular and lucrative public baths were actually sickening the visitors who flocked to them for rejuvenation. Discharges from local tanneries had infected the spas with lethal bacteria.

When the doctor goes public with the information, local merchants, joined by government officials, their allies in the “liberal-minded independent press,” and other financially interested parties move to muzzle him. The medical establishment pulls his medical license, the townsfolk vilify and brand him “an enemy of the people.” Ibsen’s fictional doctor experienced what social scientists call the “Semmelweis reflex.”

This term describes the knee-jerk revulsion with which the press, the medical and scientific community, and allied financial interests greet new scientific evidence that contradicts an established scientific paradigm. The reflex can be particularly fierce in cases where new scientific information suggests that established medical practices are actually harming public health.

The real-life plight of Ignaz Semmelweis, a Hungarian physician, inspired the term and Ibsen’s play. In 1847, Dr. Semmelweis was an assistant professor at Vienna’s General Hospital maternity clinic, where around 10 percent of women died from puerperal “birth bed” fever. Based on his pet theory that cleanliness could mitigate transmission of disease-causing “particles,” Semmelweis introduced the practice of mandatory hand washing for interns between performing autopsies and delivering babies. The rate of fatal puerperal fever immediately dropped to around 1 percent. Semmelweis published these findings.

Rather than building a statue to Semmelweis, the medical community, unwilling to admit culpability in the injury of so many patients, expelled the doctor from the medical profession. His former colleagues tricked Dr. Semmelweis into visiting a mental institution in 1865, then committed him against his will. Semmelweis died mysteriously two weeks later. A decade afterward, Louis Pasteur’s germ theory and Joseph Lister’s work on hospital sanitation vindicated Semmelweis’s ideas.

Modern analogs abound. Herbert Needleman of the University of Pittsburgh endured the Semmelweis reflex when he revealed the brain-killing toxicity of lead in the 1980s. Needleman published a groundbreaking study in 1979 in the New England Journal of Medicine showing that children with high levels of lead in their teeth scored significantly lower than their peers on intelligence tests, on auditory and speech processing, and on attention measurements.

Beginning in the early 1980s, the lead and oil industries (leaded gasoline was a lucrative petroleum product) mobilized public relations firms and scientific and medical consultants to lambast Needleman’s research and his credibility. Industry pressured the Environmental Protection Agency, the Office of Scientific Integrity at the National Institutes of Health, and the University of Pittsburgh to launch investigations against Needleman. Ultimately the federal government and the University vindicated Needleman. But the impact of the industry’s scathing assault ruined Needleman’s academic career and stagnated the field of lead research. The episode offered an enduring demonstration of industry power to disrupt the lives of researchers who dare to question their products’ safety.

Rachel Carson ran the same gauntlet in the early 1960s when she exposed the dangers of Monsanto’s DDT pesticide, which the medical community then promoted as prophylactic against body lice and malaria. Government officials and medical professionals led by the American Medical Association joined Monsanto and other chemical manufacturers, attacking Carson viciously. Trade journals and the popular media disparaged her as a “hysterical woman.” Industry talking points derided Carson as a “spinster,” the contemporary euphemism for lesbian, and for being unscientific. Vicious criticisms of her book appeared in editorial pages in Time, Life, Newsweek, the Saturday Evening Post, US News and World Report, and even Sports Illustrated.

I am immensely proud that my uncle, President John F. Kennedy, played a critical role in vindicating Carson. In 1962, he defied his own USDA, a captive agency in league with Monsanto, and appointed a panel of independent scientists who validated every material assertion in Carson’s book Silent Spring. The experience of British physician and epidemiologist Alice Stewart offers a near-perfect analogy to the Medical cartel’s lynching of Judy Mikovits.

In the 1940s, Stewart was one of the rare women in her profession and the youngest fellow ever elected at the time to the Royal College of Physicians. She began investigating the high occurrences of childhood cancers in well-to-do families, a puzzling phenomenon given that disease often correlated with poverty, and seldom with affluence. Stewart published a paper in The Lancet in 1956 offering strong evidence that the common practice of giving X-rays to pregnant women was the culprit in carcinomas that would later afflict their children.

According to Margaret Heffernan, author of Willful Blindness, Stewart’s finding “flew in the face of conventional wisdom”—the medical profession’s enthusiasm for the new technology of X-rays—as well as “doctors’ idea of themselves, which was as people who helped patients.” A coalition of government regulators, nuclear promoters, and the nuclear industry joined the US and British medical establishments in launching a brutal attack on Stewart. Stewart, who died in 2002 at the age of ninety-five, never again received another major research grant in England. It took twenty-five years after the publication of Stewart’s paper for the medical establishment to finally acknowledge her findings and abandon the practice of X-raying expectant mothers.

Judy Mikovits is heir to these martyrs and, more directly, to a long line of scientists, whom public health officials have punished, exiled, and ruined specifically for committing heresy against reigning vaccine orthodoxies. Dr. Bernice Eddy was an award-winning virologist, and one of the highest-ranking female scientists in NIH history. She and her research partner Elizabeth Stewart were the first researchers to isolate the Polyomavirus— the first virus proven to cause cancer. In 1954, NIH asked Eddy to direct testing of the Salk polio vaccine. She discovered, while testing eighteen macaques, that Salk’s vaccine contained residual live polio virus that was paralyzing the monkeys.

Dr. Eddy warned her NIH bosses that the vaccine was virulent, but they dismissed her concerns. The distribution of that vaccine by Cutter Labs in California caused the worst polio outbreak in history. Health officials infected 200,000 people with live polio; 70,000 became sick, leaving 200 children paralyzed and ten dead. In 1961, Eddy discovered that a cancer-causing monkey virus, SV40, had contaminated ninety-eight million Salk polio vaccines. When she injected the SV40 virus into newborn hamsters, the rodents sprouted tumors.

Eddy’s discovery proved an embarrassment to many scientists working on the vaccine. Instead of rewarding her for her visionary work, NIH officials banned her from polio research and assigned her to other duties. The NIH buried the alarming information and continued using the vaccines. In the autumn of 1960, the New York Cancer Society invited Eddy to address its annual conference. Eddy chose the subject of tumors induced by the polyoma virus. However, she also described tumors induced by the SV40 viral agent in monkey kidney cells. Her NIH supervisor angrily reprimanded Eddy for mentioning the discovery publicly and banned her from public health crisis statements.

Eddy argued for publication of her work on the virus, casting the contaminated vaccine supply as an urgent public health crisis. Agency bigwigs stonewalled publication, allowing Merck and Parke-Davis to continue marketing the oncogenic vaccine to millions of American adults and children. On July 26, 1961, the New York Times reported that Merck and Parke-Davis were withdrawing their Salk vaccines. The article said nothing about cancer. The Times ran the story next to an account about overdue library fines on page 33.

While two drug companies, Merck and Parke-Davis, recalled their polio vaccine in 1961, NIH officials refused to pursue a total recall of the rest of the supply, fearing reputational injury to the vaccine program if Americans learned that PHS had infected them with a cancer-producing virus. As a result, millions of unsuspecting Americans received carcinogenic vaccines between 1961 and 1963. The Public Health Service then concealed that “secret” for forty years. In total, ninety-eight million Americans received shots potentially containing the cancer-producing virus, which is now part of the human genome.

In 1996, government researchers identified SV-40 in 23 percent of the blood specimens and 45 percent of the sperm specimens collected from healthy adults. Six percent of the children born between 1980 and 1995 are infected. Public health officials gave millions of people the vaccine for years after they knew it was infected. They contaminated humanity with a monkey virus and refused to admit what they’d done.

Today, SV-40 is used in research laboratories throughout the world because it is so reliably carcinogenic. Researchers use it to produce a wide variety of bone and soft-tissue cancers including mesothelioma and brain tumors in animals. These cancers have exploded in the baby boom generation, which received the Salk and Sabin polio vaccines between 1955 and 1963. Skin cancers are up by 70 percent, lymphoma and prostate by 66 percent, and brain cancer by 34 percent. Prior to 1950, mesothelioma was rare in humans.

Today, doctors diagnose nearly 3,000 Americans with mesotheliomas every year; 60 percent of the tumors that were tested contained SV-40. Today, scientists find SV-40 in a wide range of deadly tumors, including between 33 percent and 90 percent of brain tumors, eight of eight ependymomas, and nearly half of the bone tumors tested. In successive measures, NIH forbade Bernice Eddy from speaking publicly or attending scholarly conferences, held up her papers, removed her from vaccine research altogether, and eventually destroyed her animals and took away access to her labs.

Her treatment continues to mark an enduring scandal with the scientific community, yet NIH’s Bernice Eddy playbook has become a standardized template for Federal vaccine regulators in their treatment of dissident vaccine scientists who seek to tell the truth about vaccines. Dr. John Anthony Morris was a bacteriologist and virologist who worked for thirty-six years at NIH and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), beginning in 1940. Morris served as the chief vaccine officer for the Bureau of Biological Standards (BBS) at the National Institute of Health and later with the FDA when the BBS transferred to that agency in the 1970s.

Dr. Morris irked his superiors by arguing that the research carried out by his unit demonstrated there was no reliable proof that flu vaccines were effective in preventing influenza; in particular, he accused his supervisor of basing HHS’s mass vaccination program for the swine flu primarily on a scientifically baseless fear campaign and on false claims made by pharmaceutical manufacturers. He warned that the vaccine was dangerous and could induce neurological injuries. His CDC superior warned Dr. Morris, “I would advise you not to talk about this.” When vaccine recipients began reporting adverse reactions, including Guillain-Barré, Dr. Morris disobeyed that order and went public.

He declared that the flu vaccine was ineffective and potentially dangerous and said that he could find no evidence that this swine flu was dangerous or that it would spread from human to human. In retaliation, FDA officials confiscated his research materials, changed the locks on his laboratory, reassigned his laboratory staff, and blocked his efforts to publish his findings. The FDA assigned Dr. Morris to a small room with no telephone. Anyone who wished to see him had to secure permission from the chief of the lab. In 1976, HHS fired Dr. Morris on the pretext that he failed to return library books on time.

Subsequent events supported Dr. Morris’s skepticism about the swine flu shot. The 1976 swine flu vaccination program was so fraught with problems that the government discontinued inoculations after forty-nine million people had received the vaccine. Among the vaccine’s victims were 500 cases of Guillain-Barré, including 200 people paralyzed and thirty-three dead. Furthermore, the incidence of swine flu among vaccinated was seven times greater than among those who were unvaccinated, according to news reports.

According to his New York Times obituary, Dr. Morris said, “The producers of these (influenza) vaccines know they are worthless, but they go on selling them anyway.” He told the Washington Post in 1979, “It’s a medical ripoff. . . . I believe the public should have truthful information on the basis of which they can determine whether or not to take the vaccine,” adding, “I believe that given full information, they won’t take the vaccine.”

FDA used the same playbook in 2002 to isolate, silence, and drive from government service its star epidemiologist, Dr. Bart Classen, when his massive epidemiologic studies, the largest ever performed, linked Hib vaccines to the juvenile diabetes epidemic. FDA ordered Dr. Classen to refrain from publishing the government-funded studies, forbade him from talking publicly about the alarming outbreak, and eventually forced him out of government service.

In 1995, the CDC hired a PhD computer analytics expert, Dr. Gary Goldman, to perform the largest-ever CDC-funded study of the chickenpox vaccine. Goldman’s results on an isolated population of 300,000 residents of Antelope Valley, California, showed that the vaccine waned, leading to dangerous outbreaks of chickenpox in adults and that ten-year-old children who received the vaccine were getting shingles at over three times the rate of unvaccinated children. Shingles has twenty times the death rate of chickenpox and causes blindness. CDC ordered Goldman to hide his findings and forbade him from publishing his data.

In 2002, Goldman resigned in protest. He sent a letter to his bosses saying that he was resigning because “I refuse to participate in research fraud.” Recent medical history overflows with other examples of the brutal suppression of any science that exposes vaccines’ risks; its casualties include brilliant and compassionate doctors and scientists like Dr. Waney Squier, the railroaded British gastroenterologist Andy Wakefield, the steadfast father/son research team David and Dr. Mark Geier, Italian biochemist Antionetta Gatti, and Danish epidimiologist Peter Goetzsche. Any just society would have built statues to these visionaries and honored them with laurels and leadership.

Our corrupt medical officials have systematically disgraced and silenced them. In England a neuropathologist, Dr. Waney Squier of the Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, testified in a series of cases on behalf of defendants accused of inflicting shaken baby syndrome. Squier believed that, in these cases, vaccines and not physical trauma had caused the infants’ brain injuries. In March 2016, the Medical Practitioner’s Tribunal Service (MPTS) charged her with falsifying evidence and lying and struck her from the medical register. Squier appealed the tribunal’s decision in November 2016. The High Court of England reversed the MPTS’s decision, concluding, “The determination of the MPTS is in many significant ways flawed.”

Professor Peter Gøtzsche cofounded the Cochrane Collaboration in 1993 to remedy the overwhelming corruption of published science and scientists by pharmaceutical companies. Over 30,000 of the world’s leading scientists joined Cochrane as volunteer reviewers hoping to restore independence and integrity to published science. Gøtzsche was responsible for making Cochrane the world’s leading independent research institute. He also founded the Nordic Cochrane Center in 2003.

On October 29, 2018, pharmaceutical interests, led by Bill Gates, finally succeeded in ousting Professor Gøtzsche. A stacked board controlled by Gates fired Gøtzsche from the Cochrane Collaboration after he published a well-founded criticism of the HPV vaccine. In 2018, the Danish government, under pressure from pharma, fired Peter Gøtzsche from Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. His findings about the HPV vaccine threatened the pharmaceutical industry’s earnings.

Science, at its best, is a search for existential truth. Sometimes, however, those truths threaten powerful economic paradigms. Both science and democracy rely on the free flow of accurate information. Greedy corporations and captive government regulators have consistently shown themselves willing to twist, distort, falsify, and corrupt science, hide information, and censor open debate to protect personal power and corporate profits. Censorship is the fatal enemy of both democracy and public health.

Dr. Frank Ruscetti often quotes Valery Legasov, the courageous Russian physicist who braved censor, torture, and threats on his life by the KGB to reveal to the world the true cause of the Chernobyl disaster. “To be a scientist is to be naïve. We are so focused on our search for the truth, we fail to consider how few actually want us to find it. But it is always there, whether we can see it or not, whether we choose to or not. The truth doesn’t care about our needs or our wants. It doesn’t care about our governments, our ideologies, our religions. It will lie in wait for all time.” This account by Judy Mikovits and Kent Heckenlively is vitally important both to the health of our children and the vitality of our democracy.

My father believed moral courage to be the rarest species of bravery. Rarer even than the physical courage of soldiers in battle or great intelligence. He thought it the one vital quality required to salvage the world. If we are to continue to enjoy democracy and protect our children from the forces that seek to commoditize humanity, then we need courageous scientists like Judy Mikovits who are willing to speak truth to power, even at terrible personal cost.
