Life in a small town

I Find Myself Very Busy …

Oh Earth Oh Earth Return”, Bill Douglas, (1996)

David Warren

Well, as happens every year (this year earlier than previous … thankfully) the anxiety of finishing Year-End accounting has flooded me with a sense of urgency which wipes out all other interests. I will simply ride on some coat-tails of others who have nothing to do but blog and so I point to some posts which I found interesting and so may you … or not … your mileage may vary of course.

The first item of interest is the latest post from David Warren on “Getting dirty” here.

The next little item is a Homily by Fr. James Altman, at St. James the Less, La Crosse, WI.  Found on YouTube, and if you are deeply invested in the secular world view and not particularly religious, perhaps even one of the “Nones” then it might not be of interest, again, your mileage may vary. If you ARE of a religious bent, with a firm belief in God, of any believing denomination then it is a call which cannot be ignored.

Then there is another short but interesting post by David Warren titled “Fight them on the beaches, &c”

Mark Mallett with Pope Benedict XVI

And finally, last but not least, I have another recent post by Mark Mallett called “Our 1942”, which is well worth the time and emotional expenditure because it is rather grim. Again, if one is firmly committed to the secular world view, then there is nothing here but “stupid conspiracy theories” from Red Necks in fly-over country”.

But if you are starting to have doubts about the honesty and credibility of all our secular authorities then it is well worth the time to work through his post. It is well researched and well footnoted.

Anyway, that’s enough for now, gotta get back to accounting and “all the duties of my state in life”.

A little rougher than usual …
