Life in a small town

More on Diet, Micro-nutrients, and Health – Iodine …

“Àki”, Rodrigo Rodriguez, from the album “Inner Thoughts” (2006)

As I have posted before, it requires some courage and determination to take responsibility for one’s own health and life and not to simply rely upon “expert opinion”.

Turns out that “expert opinion” is the same as any other opinion, and is frequently wrong.

It’s your life … you have to take responsibility for it … the path the world wants you to take is often about what’s good for them and not what’s good for you.

This seems especially true when large amounts of money are involved.

So I have been taking Nascent Iodine now for about two months. Shortly after I started using Iodine I posted about it in a general blog post about Diet and Health. And a couple of things seem to be becoming apparent.

First off I seem to be more alert and seem to be sleeping better, and that is all good but is quite subjective and “anecdotal” as it is difficult to  quantify “more alert” and “sleeping better”.

There is one thing that is more than subjective. For several years now I have taken a mild anti-inflammatory drug, 2mg per night to help me with urination discomfort and frequent urination attributed to prostate inflammation and an inability to relax to urinate.

Since I have started taking my Nascent Iodine supplement my urinary problems have gradually disappeared. I started over 2 months ago with a couple of drops a day and am now up to using 20 drops a day, 10 in the morning and 10 at night.

I have stopped taking the 2mg of drug every evening as of two weeks ago and my symptoms have completely disappeared. Sleeping through the night, not getting up to pee two or three times a night and peeing with no discomfort, relaxed and with a good stream.

I know it sounds kinda uncomfortable and off color, kinda a “too much information”, you know what I mean, but at 66 years of age this is important. I really don’t give a rat’s derriere about what people think any more. I bet there are quite a few old boys out there who have the same problem and this has fixed it for me.

So that’s Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, and now Prostate Inflamation, cured by an appropriate diet and approriate supplements. And now, I have dropped another expensive drug – that’s the last one – all that is left in my, now half empty, daily pill container is mineral and probiotic supplements, and a 1000 mg vitamin C and an 81mg aspirin both of which I have been taking every morning since 1984.

So like I said, I started taking Nascent Iodine,  1 or 2 drop per day to begin with, and have worked my way up to 20 drops a day.  I found further good information at True Hope .  And the True Hope web site is at https://www.truehope.com/.  The information on this site has been a life saver for our family.

And there is the book, of course, by Lynne Farrow. Her book is titled “The Iodine Crisis, What You Don’t Know About Iodine Can Wreck Your Life”. The blurb from “Goodreads is: Thanks to environmental pollutants Iodine deficiency has become a worldwide epidemic.

Everybody knows pollutants cause cancer. What they don’t know is that these pollutants cause a deficiency that can make us sick, fat and stupid.

Iodized salt–supposedly a solution to iodine deficiency– is actually a nutritional scam which provides a false sense of security.  The Iodine Crisis explains how we became so deficient, then shows the time-tested solution to reversing many conditions.

Lynne Farrow reveals how she and thousands of other patient-activists changed their lives by researching and using iodine. Frequently Asked Questions cover everything you need to know about iodine. The proof of iodine’s benefit is demonstrated by the dramatic case studies shared in this book.

Anyway, that’s it for today, Have a happy healthy life and don’t forget to take your Iodine.

Cheers

Joe
