Second Thoughts on A New Paradigm? (part 7)

Kojo No Tsuki” (Rentaro Taki), performed by Yo-Yo Ma, Michio Mamiya, & Patricia Zander, from the album “Japanese Melodies” (1990)

And, two thousand years on, Abraham’s descendants murdered God’s Son. So much for keeping the covenant. A couple of thousand years more and schoolyard bullying in the Vatican seems pretty small potatoes compared to murdering God’s Son. So what about our trials, pains, and insults?

This is Christ’s Church. No “Ifs”, “Ands”, or “Buts”. Claims to the direct inspiration of “the Holy Spirit”, unverifiable by objective constraints and controls, easily lure us into the servitude of a religion manufactured by man. We have plenty of those around already and proliferating like Topsy, these heterodox social clubs are almost as popular, and profitable, as golf and country clubs.

Father Hunwicke again: (I love that man)

*****

The old Liberal Protestant superstition, such a comfort to the anti-Catholic mind, was that the Eucharist started as a simple fellowship meal which, probably under the influence of Hellenistic Mystery cults, was perverted into the Catholic Mass. (ed. bigotry by any name smells the same)

Rabbi Professor Dr Jacob Neusner, on the other hand, was free to follow the obvious track which leads from the ‘Cleansing of the Temple’ (in which Christ emptied the Temple of those who, by changing money or supplying certified animals, enabled the Temple cult to be fulfilled) to the conclusion, documented from his profound knowledge of first century Judaism, that Jesus of Nazareth saw himself as abolishing that sacrificial cult on the Temple Mount because of His intention, on Maundy Thursday, to erect in its place the new sacrificial system of His Eucharistic self-oblation in His Body and Blood.

And, during this Holy Week, let us continually bring back to our memories the self-identification the Lord made of himself with the Temple. “Destroy this Temple, and in three days …”. But he had made this identification during his Galilaean ministry. He forgave sins! Who indeed, as the watchers absolutely correctly asked themselves, can forgive sins but God alone? And where does God do so, if not in the Place of Sacrifice, the Temple?

So … who … what … is this Man?

*****

What about our own Fears, Uncertainties, and Doubts? What about our doctrinal controversies? These trials and pains seem, at times, to be tailored to exactly those aspects of our life which we are most attached to, like our opinions, of subjects arcane and common, of other’s opinions, and ourselves, always larger than life.

Raymond Arroyo with Mother Angelica

Raymond Arroyo with Mother Angelica

A couple of weeks ago, on the EWTN network, Raymond Arroyo incurred the wrath of the “Borgoglionistas” for running his Papal Posse over some shenanigans from some Vatican representatives.

How dare Raymond and his team question the “Hypersuperueberpapalist” team when they have been ordained directly by the Holy Spirit to change church doctrine … or so they claim.

So what? Well, that claim is sort of a big deal in theological circles … Others have written:

*****

“At Chalcedon, the Fathers greeted the Tome of Saint Leo, not with cries of “Christ himself has spoken” or “This is the utterance of the Holy Spirit”, but (after carefully examining its text) Peter has spoken through Leo.

Father Hunwicke

Father Hunwicke

This is profoundly in accordance with an Irenaean ecclesiology, whereby orthodoxy is witnessed by the identity of the teaching handed down from generation to generation in the particular churches, more especially in those of Apostolic foundation, and most normatively in the Roman Church. …   Does this matter?

I think it does matter, and does make a great deal of difference …  claims to the inspiration of “the Holy Spirit”, unverifiable by objective constraints and controls, can lure us into the servitude of a religion manufactured by man, a cult of “Let’s Make It Up For Ourselves”.

This cult is ultimately fashioned upon the model of the old religion of the Gnostics, who created their own fake alternatives to the Tradition received from the Apostles because they felt they knew with such certainty that the Church’s Tradition was wrong. … (read the rest at: Madmen –  it is worth the time)

Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia

So, again,  the Bergoglio clique keep on about the Holy Spirit; how He desires us to accept constant surprises; how He speaks to us through the very lips of the Roman Pontiff … particularly the present one.

So what? Well, it would seem that this is not going to go away quietly and discretely …

Now, on March 17th, the latest FLASH news: Apparently someone called Paglia is going around shouting at people that the time has come to stop discussing Amoris and just to receive it.

Again, Father Hunwicke opines:

*****

like Edgar Alan Poe’s nocturnally silent dog, the Holy Spirit seems absent from places one might expect Him to be. Vatican I tells us that the Holy Spirit does not inspire the Roman Pontiff with new teaching but simply helps him to plug the old stuff.

Ecumenical Councils do not routinely suggest that the Spirit is guiding them in their new articulations of doctrine. Anti-Gnostic polemicists such as Irenaeus find guarantees of pure Teaching in the historical succession of orthodox bishops from the time of the Apostles, not in the activity of the Spirit …  In Saint John’s Gospel, the Lord says, indeed, that the Holy Spirit will lead his disciples into all truth: but I discern no evidence that this refers to anything beyond the ambit of the Gospel Narratives themselves.” (read the rest here)

*****

But, “... for the Holy Spirit was promised to the successors of Peter NOT so that they might, by his revelation, make known some new doctrine, but that, by his assistance, they might religiously guard and faithfully expound the revelation or deposit of faith transmitted by the apostles(Vatican I).

This would seem to overrule any notions of a “New Paradigm”, regardless of the perambulations of the Vatican Secretary of State in his “dialogue” with the secular media and other interested parties.

At times, these times, in 21st century Rome, its as if, after 500 years of watching the rebels, the followers of Luther’s “New Paradigm”,  enjoy themselves, the 60’s “Me” generation dressed up in clerical collars and cassocks and dove into an orgy of “Me Too!” in the name of ecumenicalism. What’s next? Let’s see … married clergy … women-priests … a necrotic transition from orthodoxy to a heterodox social club? Looking more and more like a duck from here.

C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis

I wonder what’s in it, this “Me Too”,  for the real Roman Catholic Church, the traditional Roman Church, not the progressive heterodox social club in Rome?

Of course, anyone who doesn’t agree with the social club, The Faction, is an idiot. As I have posted before, I believe that the rise of Bulverism in any group is a sure sign of the decay, the rot, within said group.

I have referenced Bulverism in a couple of previous posts but Bulverism is indeed THE sure sign of a weak and immoral argument and a failed entity, whichever and wherever they are found.

Progressives, Communists, Clerical Socialists, Liberation Theologians, all cut from the same cloth, dyed black or red or denim, whatever, and all serving the same master, shoveling coal for Satan.

The method of Bulverism is to “assume that your opponent is wrong, and explain his error”. So too the Liberal wing of the Catholic Church … their opponents are “obviously” wrong and “out of touch with the times”. The Bulverist assumes a speaker’s argument is invalid or false and then explains why the speaker came to make that mistake, attacking the speaker or the speaker’s motive.

The term “Bulverism” was coined by C. S. Lewis[1] to poke fun at a very serious error in thinking that, he alleges, recurs often in a variety of religious, political, and philosophical debates. Similar to Antony Flews “Subject/Motive Shift”, Bulverism is a fallacy of irrelevance. One accuses an argument of being wrong on the basis of the arguer’s identity or motive, but these are strictly speaking irrelevant to the argument’s validity or truth. But it is also a fallacy of circular reasoning, since it assumes, rather than argues, that one’s opponent is wrong.

I find myself wishing with Frodo: ““I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. ”  All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us. (Gandalf, “Lord of The Rings”)

The modi operandi of the Modernist camp after Vatican II was to behave as if they had won the battle against the past, the past of tradition, doctrine and dogma, against the heritage of the magisterium, and that the outcomes of V II were what they wanted.

They ignored the intentions and actual documents rising out of the council and moved forward implementing “reforms” and “fundamental changes”, “in the Spirit of Vatican II”.

Pope Saint John Paul the Great

Pope Saint John Paul the Great

By the “spirit of Vatican II” is meant the teaching and intentions of the Second Vatican Council but interpreted in a way that is not limited to a literal reading of its documents, or even going so far as  interpreting in a way that contradicts the “letter” of the Council.

So, these days, these wretched days, in the first decades of the 21st century, one might be tempted to despair.

Paraphrasing Kipling, in these later days there is a real premium on keeping your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you; on trusting yourself when all men doubt you, but making allowance for their doubting too; waiting and not being tired by waiting, or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies, or, being hated, don’t give way to hating, on “being Christ”, being a real member of the body of Christ.

It seems, in hindsight, that the “Spirit of Vatican II” is still alive and well in the church bureaucracy despite 30 years of the best efforts of Pope Saint John Paul the Great and Pope Benedict XVI to cure the cancerous heresy of modernism in the 20th century Catholic Church.

Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre

Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre

After Vatican II Traditionalist Catholics such as Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre distinguished between “Catholic Rome” and the actually existing Rome, as he declared in 1974 that, while he and his followers are faithful to “Catholic Rome”, they refuse to follow “the Rome of neo-Modernist and neo-Protestant tendencies which were clearly evident in the Second Vatican Council and, after the Council, in all the reforms which issued from it” (in the Spirit of Vatican II).

A priest of the Lefebvre-founded Society of St. Pius X similarly declared in 1982 that “Rome is now the headquarters, not only of the Catholic Church, but of the Modernist Mafia which has invaded and subjected it”, and that “the multitudes of ex-Catholic shepherds and their sheep who have either defected or drifted into a new religion” might well be called “Roman Protestants”. (the Spirit of Vatican II in action – ecumenical catholicism or small c catholicism).

But all is not lost … stiff upper lip and all that … and after the darkest night, the Son rises … we always have to remember that “All God’s creatures got a place in the choir” …

Cheers

Joe

Why do “They” hate “Us”?

ORCA miing Support Vessel "EVE" OnlineCaptains Log, Stardate 20170519.1311

Hi everybody. I recently received an important communication from Fleet Headquarters. This is a little bit long, but it is an important example of how the Progressives, Activists, Liberals, Democrats, Communists, Socialists, ISIS,  and ALL the rest of the diseased brain dead emoting zombies of the left react to US. So please bear with me.

That really wasn’t very charitable, or “loving and forgiving”, just plain and simple “unchristian”. However, in my own defense, I believe that if one refuses to recognize an identifiable enemy of everything you believe in as the enemy that they are, then it is only a matter of time before they (the enemy) take you out, probably along with your squad mates. That’s just not fair to your squad mates. If it looks like a duck, and all that …

I stole all the following “content” from an email sent me by Bill Whittle, a blogger I subscribe to and have a great deal of respect for. I have been following Bill, oh, probably close to 15 years now, ever since I came across him on his first site “Eject, Eject, Eject” in a link from “U.S.S. Clueless” the original blog site of the legendary and much missed Steven DenBeste. I’ve posted the whole thing because I believe that context is important – your mileage may vary …  Anyway, here is Bill’s missive:

*****

“… I’m writing this in the back of a car going through Lufkin, Texas. Last night I did a speaking event at Steven F. Austin University in Nacogdoches. I’ve been doing several speaking events at colleges, but this one was different.

One person (who I later discovered listed his occupation as “activist”) had put up a Facebook post, calling me the usual: racist, xenophobe, and without teaching credentials and so obviously of no educational value. And that’s his right, of course, but the Facebook post wasn’t about coming out to confront this new Hitler, but rather to write to the SFA authorities to ban me from campus. This campaign apparently generated one very angry call to the administrators office, and one very angry email as well — both from The Activist as it turned out.

Now here’s the rub. Ten seconds into my remarks, this individual, sitting directly in front of me, started shouting at the top of his lungs about my heinous crimes against humanity and he JUST. WOULDN’T. STOP.

There were a few policemen in attendance — who got to hear themselves be called mass murderers several times during the night, by the way — and the event organizers looked like they were going to escort this gentlemen outside the premises, but then something amazing happened — amazing to me in any case.

The more this fellow shrieked at what a hate-filled piece of s*** I am, the calmer I became. I am not built this way. At least, I didn’t think I was.

So I let him talk. He would make a statement, and I would calmly and respectfully engage that statement… which led him to a completely new form of genocide that I was espousing, and so on.

This went on for 20 minutes, and many of the students were 100% behind this unique individual. At first. But as the night went on and I got calmer and calmer, more and more quiet, more and more respectful and engaged, the rest of the Social Justice Warriors started to calm down and actually discuss things. And this alarmed The Activist very much. It alarmed him so much, in fact, that he started to interrupt them.

After the event was over, he followed me out to my car. After one particularly personal and remarkably obscene comment, delivered about five inches from my face, I found myself replying “You know, if I had any respect for you at all that would have hurt my feelings.” I have no idea where that came from.

As this was going on, I asked him what he was majoring in. Turns out, he was not a student at the university.

Now I’d love to tell you how I changed some minds in there and got people thinking, but I have no evidence of this at all. The only thing I can state with confidence was that, Professional Activist excepted, the overall level of hate and rage directed at me — and by extension at you and everything we believe together — began to abate.

People started asking questions instead of making speeches. So I don’t know if it made any difference with them, but it did make a difference to the many people who came up to me afterward, apologized on behalf of the university, Nacogdoches and Texas, and what outweighed all of the vitriol and stress of being called the vilest names imaginable for two hours were the thanks and the handshakes from the two police officers.

I was privileged to talk to one of them after The Activist had left; he had served as a heavy gunner in the Army for many years, risking his life (as opposed to me merely risking my comfort) to allow people like The Activist to accuse him of genocide. As I was leaving he said to me, “Don’t let him bother you, sir. His world is very small.”

I love my job. Which is why I am telling you all of this.

It’s been a year now since PJTV closed its doors and so many of you moved over to BillWhittle.com. That means that for those of you who bought annual memberships, those memberships are about to auto-renew. I’d like to stress that this is not something we decided on or even have any control over: Auto-renewal is the only way online banks will accept credit/debit card payments.

*****

So the rest was just a forecast of the directions Bill intends to take his content in the coming year. I find it interesting but probably many others who do not share his views would not. If it intrigues you maybe just visit his site and see what you think.  I especially like his series of YouTube videos titled We The People 2.0″.

Truth – and consequences …

“Over The Hills And Far Away”,  Jon Boden,  from the album “A Folk Song a Day”, 2011. The song is  also the Theme from “Sharp’s Rifles” a series about the Napoleonic Wars in Spain.

London

Photo by Matthew Lloyd/Getty Images. London is Europe’s de facto financial capital.

Well!  Never, never, never ignore or underestimate  the British Common Man. Napoleon learned the hard way when the “common scum” kicked his Sicilian derriere most thoroughly.

The British voter just blew all the pundits and professionals out of the water. Monte Python could not have done better. I imagine the Knights that go “NEE!” in the bureaucracy and academia are all in a mad scrambling dither about the sky falling. All the talking heads have even less meaningful things to say than usual.

Blather, blather, blather, blather, from “Triumph of Democracy” all around the circle to “Right Wing Haters” until perhaps there is so much hot air blowing ’round that they will all physically follow their vaporous thoughts into zero G. Should be interesting and amusing as well.

Contesting the “Triumph of Democracy” crowd, we have the predictable Liberal Progressive freak-out on the triumph of “far right parties,” , the “low information Trump voters” which is just SO Lame-Stream. Fifty-two percent of the British electorate cannot possibly be “Far Right Haters”, or if they were as described they might have accomplished something by now. But the left always calls everyone else “haters” when in fact they have been historically the “Greatest Haters” (ever hear of NAZIs and Communists? Lefties every one of them).

torches_and_pitchforksIn our current culture such terms are meaningless. There is always populist discontent with opposite things — with too much taxes, and not enough welfare – ever has it been so – and the worst are the Progressives blaming every one else for being “racists” while continuously thumping their own extreme version of racism upon which they depend for their voter support

But wait!  This isn’t over.  It is probably going to take at least a couple of years to untangle this little divorce and it will not be a pleasant experience for anyone, least of all for those who voted to leave. This will make the dark days pre-Thatcher look like an Anglican Church picnic. I just can’t wait for the trainloads of inked and electroned, scribery (Huh?) about it all being caused by the racism and hate springing full blown and unprovoked from the breast of the nasty proles, the common unwashed working man, incited by the evil right wing haters, It must be Bush’s fault!  Everything is Bush’s fault. Except for what is the fault of the evil Koch Brothers. Riiiight …  The Brights just couldn’t possibly have had anything to do with it! Everything they did was for our own good, right?

“Fanfare For The Common Man”, Aaron Copland & The London Symphony Orchestra, from the album “Copland Super Hits”, 1994.

So, what we are seeing happen here is the impact of Truth on the fantasies of the Intellectuals and Brights, the Progressive managers currently running our economic and political world, who sincerely believe their own BS. Unfortunately for their fantasies, “Truth” matters, “Facts” matter, and you can never trust “voters” to be “sensible”. Hence all the effort put into de-fanging voters and the voting process so that it can be controlled, and “sensible” thinkers can prevail “for our own good” of course.

When poisons become fashionable they do not cease to killThe managers and academics just don’t connect with “The People” because they are not “people”. They don’t understand all the “little people”, the ants they see from their upper floor office windows, and they could care less what the “little people” think, feel and believe, because the of course the managers and academics know best. For a lucid example of just how the left regards the “little people” look no further than this article in the magazine “Foreign Affairs“.

There’s a good read here about “Populist Rage”  and “Right Wing Haters”. It’s a sign of the times, this article is. Foreign Affairs Magazine used to be a fair and impartial venue reporting on international politics when, 30 or 40 years ago, I used to read it. I read it a lot back then, I read it a lot when I was a questioning teen.

This particular article is by one  JONATHAN HOPKIN who is an Associate Professor of Comparative Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Now we all know that “Associate” indicates that the Illuminati at the London School of Economics don’t feel that Jonathan quite measures up yet. He may yet make it to full professorship if he is successful in kissing enough butt over the next decade. Or, like an infamous alumni called Pierre he can always run for Prime Minister in Canada if he can’t make it at the university.

hopkin_brexit_rtx2gje2Anyway, here we go  “… tensions over the United Kingdom’s Brexit campaign should have culminated with a referendum this Thursday on whether to leave or remain in the European Union. Instead, it peaked prematurely with the tragic murder of Jo Cox, a pro-EU Labour member of Parliament, who was brutally shot and stabbed last week by a man close to a British extremist anti-immigration group…”

Well GEE you left lib weenie! That same logic makes you close to the murdering Gestapo or the NKVD or maybe the KGB? Ever hear of the terms “Sympathizer”, or “Running-Dog”, how about “Useful Idiot”? And yes, being shot or stabbed does indeed tend to be “brutal”, does it not? So is cutting up babies in the womb. Get used to it!  Soon you will be writing in favour of doing it (stabbing) to seniors and handicapped folks. Get over yourself!  At least TRY to be consistent!

And since guns of all sorts account for only about 3% of murders it does seem that the majority of these events (97%) employ the much more brutal use of knives, fists and feet which seem to be the tools of choice for most folks when offing those one disagrees with.

Why does the left deplore the “brutal murder” of alleged adults but encourage the brutal murder of defenseless children in exactly the same manner? Why? Just wondering?  Anyone? Anyone?

Oh well, maybe we should ban knives? Or Fists? Or boots?  No, no, no, ban –  “Assault Boots” – which would be any boot that was black with cleated soles, eh?

Hell! Even the Pope is on board with this: “Pope Francis has said the result of the U.K.’s referendum to leave the European Union reflects the “will of the people” and that there is now a “great responsibility” to ensure the well being of people in the U.K. and peaceful coexistence on continental Europe …”.  Of course, Francis is also on record as saying that “most Catholic Marriages are invalid” so there is something of a credibility gap in evidence where he is concerned. Is the Pope Catholic?  I don’t know anymore.

So why is the decision of 52% of British Voters to vote to leave the E.U. cast as somehow related to the murder of 1 left wing politician? Of course, there is no evidence of media bias at all, is there? Well lets see where we go with this slant:

provisional-ira

1972 – The Troubles; Battle at Springmartin – A car bombing outside a crowded pub in Belfast sparks a two-day gun battle involving the Provisional IRA

“… It was the first political killing of a British politician since the end of the Troubles, a turbulent era of conflict in Northern Ireland, and it has led many to wonder how a stable country such as the United Kingdom could lose its head over what is essentially membership in a trading bloc.

(Seriously, are you stoned???? The Brexit referendum is like the Northern Ireland conflict???  Were you even alive then?? How is it possible to make that kind of a parallel unless you are willfully smearing the “Leave” voters?)

Answering that question requires reflecting on how the country grew so divided in the first place. Since the beginning, Brexit has pitted younger, more affluent, and cosmopolitan urban Britons against the older, poorer, and less educated ones in the rural and postindustrial parts of the country.

It is this same clash—the elites versus the so-called proletariat—that has fueled the resurgence of extreme right parties across Europe, as well as in the United States. In the United Kingdom, these voters are angry at their financial instability, stagnant or declining living standards, and loss of jobs to emerging economies. And they have blamed it on the migrants arriving on their shores…”  when in fact it is ALL caused by leftist social and economic policies.

And there you have it all in a nutshell – the politics of class, division, and racism in action, always the Progressives strong suite. It’s all the fault of those poor uneducated slobs in the rural and post-industrial countryside. Why stick to the facts when you can create a dramatic fictional story about your enemies (aka propaganda – Mr. Goebbels would be so proud) that all your Rainbow cronies and fellow members of N.I.C.E. will welcome and applaud. After all, what matter the alleged thoughts and realities of we knuckle dragging neanderthals here in fly-over country, clinging to our guns and religion. Sigh, so much brains, so little sense.

Another Excellent article here, which we ignore at our peril. The Truth matters, regardless of the opinions and pontifications of the talking heads and celebs, secular AND religious, the Progressives everywhere and in all professions, who are the walking, talking, zombie enforcers of the tyranny of relativism under which we toil and prostitute ourselves for a pittance, yes, selling out for a pittance when we have daily access to Divinely gifted treasure beyond all earthly value. Pity. Pity the poor souls, Pray for the poor souls.

“Ladies in Lavender”, Joshua Bell, from the album “the Essential Joshua Bell”, 2005

As read in the article linked to above,

It is, to be Platonic about this – and why not, when discussing the transcendentals? – as if we had heard it before, or seen something before, even if perhaps we hadn’t heard or seen. The worldly may dismiss this as a kind of déjà vu, and turn for an explanation to, say, pharmacology. But even the most confirmed worldling will puzzle, when it happens to him.

“Maybe it is possible to do or be good. Maybe there is such a thing as beauty. Maybe truth is something that can be known. Stranger things have happened.”

Imagine that!  True beauty, doing your best, doing good for no other reason than to be doing your best and doing good. No pay, no photo op, no votes, no earthly reward.

Le_penseur_de_la_Porte_de_lEnfer_(musée_Rodin)_(4528252054)

“Le penseur de la Porte de lEnfer (musée Rodin) (4528252054)” by Jean-Pierre Dalbéra from Paris, France – Le penseur de la Porte de l’Enfer (musée Rodin)Uploaded by russavia. Licensed under CC BY 2.0 via Commons”

One gentle reader asked:

I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin?

Good question.  As the image implies, we are all sitting at the Gates of Hell. The material for endless writing is everywhere around us, we are veritably swimming in a sea of material which for the most part simply gets ignored by most of the fish swimming in it. There really is SO much material that it is like a huge sea.

The first thing is just write about what you are fired up about. If you are not fired up why write? I have several pet themes which almost never fail to fire me up, such as the multitudes of urban dwelling “Animal Rights Progressives” who work their asses off to try to shut down activities (like rodeos) of other folks not eking out their miserable existence in cities, in the name of “humane” “compassion”, but who really, really, really do think it is just peachy keen A-OK to murder 100,000 children a year by cutting them up and selling the parts in the name of “Women’s Health”. I mean!  SERIUOSLY!!! (also always make sure you spell things right) Seriously! Not in my lifeboat, animal rights lady, (and I am using the term VERY loosely).

How I center myself is to simply look at what I see and read and hear all around me every day and think about it. Taste it, twist it, run around it in 3 dimensions in my head, do gedanken experiments with the material, but the most important part is a lot of thinking. Because I have a lot of bias’s due to about 50 years of thinking about all this stuff I have to be careful which bias’s I wish to employ or play up or play down. That brings out the proper use of “discrimination” and “prejudices”.

Calgary Stampede chucksThen I attempt (with more or less success at times) to peel off the makeup and stage paint with which we plaster and smear everything in an attempt to rationalize why whatever appetite we wish to satisfy at that moment is not really “bad”, or “evil”, but rather that we are a special case to whom the rules do not apply. In fact, if I can see how the situation has been artfully painted such that it falls outside any rules that is even better.

By then the team is up to a canter and I can give them free rein to plunge and gallop in whatever direction they wish to take me.

If I still have no juice then I ride on someone else’s coattails until the pump is primed.(remember to always attribute sources) like when I go look at blogs I follow and see if anything inspires me and fires me up.

For example, recently found at David Warren’s blog: this one being on our culture …

“This is not pressure of population, for Canada is fairly large. It is a concentration of population, now trying to avoid the rush-hours by piling into commuter trains. The density in a few blocks downtown approaches Hong Kong levels, and yet, … walk through at most times of day and there is little crowding on the sidewalks. Only the roads full, from the compression of cars, one human in each, trying to reach the ramps of the “expressways.”

For there is no community. The public spaces are sterile, the surfaces all designer-paved, and elaborate by-laws prevent anything human from growing in the cracks. Restaurants outnumber groceries; each is a fake, in menu and decor; the groceries flog ready-made microwave meals. The people themselves are permanently “in transit,” many throughout their lives, on a journey that is the opposite of a pilgrimage. They have allowed themselves to become almost pure economic factors, with a job and a place to sleep, plus free time for demeaning entertainments. It is an environment in which there are more dogs than children — especially those small, yappy, and spoilt, on which the females ladle their maternal instincts. (On one recent walk I counted specialized retail outlets: eight for pets, and two for children.)”

David is just sitting on a rock looking through the Gates of Hell and reporting what he sees. He is one of the inspiring ones, others get me going by pissing me off with their evil hypocrisy, like the goons and zombies over at Being Liberal.

Simple really, just SO, SO much material. As long as there are Liberals, Democrats and all the other sorts of socialists and murdering abortionists there will always be lots of inspiration to fire me up.  And here is the ultimate inspiration:  We here in the Republic of Gedankin could get along just fine if every Progressive on the planet disappeared in a cloud of smoke (actually possible if you consider it) but all the Progressives would quickly die in abject self immolating misery if the Grey Tribe ever once stopped protecting them all from the fruits of their “labour”.

Cheers

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi …

The phrase appeared in Thomas à Kempis‘s 1418 work The Imitation of Christ: “O quam cito transit gloria mundi” (“How quickly the glory of the world passes away”).

The phrase was used in the ritual of papal coronation ceremonies between 1409 (when it was used at the coronation of Alexander V) and 1963, and fell out of use (or was removed) during or shortly after Vatican II.

Is it perhaps that the Church at that time was losing site of it’s mission? It’s mission to focus on saving souls and the next life? Did the Church start trying to move to a more “temporal” “relevant” place, a kind of progressive revolution to conform  more with the “Modern World” and the “Gloria Mundi”, than with Christ’s teachings? Or maybe Saint John Paul II was Pope for so long that they simply forgot about it.

I know from personal experience that the progressives took “The spirit of Vatican II” and ran with it to places the conciliar fathers never dreamed of going. Sic Transit. Kind of like a large pimple on their collective juvenile progressive noses they squeezed for all they were worth and the pus squirted everywhere, contaminating and infecting everything. At the time, knowing very little, and being very full of myself, I felt that my church had left me first and so I had little compunction about leaving the church myself. Ah, the vanity of youth.

Placing the temporal rewards of power and prestige and influence on a higher pedestal than the next life would be understandable if one was only discussing the works of men. But 盛者必衰  “The prosperous inevitably decline, the full inevitably empty”. This is Christ’s Church we are talking about.

Back in 2013, Salon Magazine ran an article titled: “Is Pope Francis a Fraud?” which plays to all the embittered ex-catholic wanna-be’s who are covered by Chesterton’s famous comment: “Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried”.  I guess you can follow Church teachings, or you can just get your faith and philosophy from Salon. Your call.

Any human who thinks that there is a necessity for the One Holy Roman Catholic Church to seek conformity with the progressive modern world to retain relevance is patently insane and never was a thinking person to begin with. They lack the courage of their convictions, the courage to stand on their own two feet and declare unambiguously “Non Serviam!” Instead they want to hide their deviance behind the vestment of “Catholic”. Sorry, there are only saints and sinners in the Catholic Church, If you want respectability go Anglican or Episcopalian.

To conform with progressive modernity would be to cease to exist as the Roman Catholic Church.

Juan de Valdés Leal, Finis gloriae mundi (1672). Seville, Hospital de la Caridad

“Amateur philosophers of our day are saying, writing and publishing a lot of ‘novelties’, and until now the ‘progressive’ calls himself the one, who said something so “wise”, like, there is no God, human reason above all else etc. It might seem, that this is really something new. Yet by no means. This is as old as the world, and even older.” – St. Maximilian Kolbe (THE SAME OLD THING. RN 4 (1925) pp. 1-3)

“. . . socialism, takes advantage of the miserable condition of the worker, in order to inoculate him with the poison of disbelief. We see how the Bolsheviks (or any statist regime, in our own time and place, Obama and the U.S. Government or the NDP and Liberals in Canada)  trample on religion. We hear the teachings of the materialists, who wish to reduce the universe to that which we only know immediately by the senses and so persuade themselves and others that there is no God nor the soul.” – St. Maximilian Kolbe (THREATENING DANGER. RN 2 (1923) pp. 2-4)

Perhaps David Warren sums it up well in one of his latest life or death posts: “For humans are enveloped in a moral field that excludes the plants and animals; each one of us a special creation. (See Catechism.) A fundamental humility and caution when tampering with nature is not a bad thing; we should cherish her. But, cherish by integral moral commandment; not because other creatures have any “rights.” (We have only what rights we can defend; they have only what we bestow.)

Here I refer to the order of Love — quite distinct from the order of sentimentality, vividly presented just now in public wailing over the harvest of Cecil the Lion, by people prepared to overlook the destruction of millions of human babies, and the harvest of their body parts by e.g. the Doktor Mengeles of Planned Parenthood“.

Ruminations of Eeyore …

Eeyore

My daughter tells me I am in “Eeyore” mode.  I suppose there is some truth in that but I just don’t see a lot of cause for cheery optimism in the panoply of saints and leaders currently in favour.

Even reports that our current Pope is the most beloved of all the popes by the usual communists, socialists and androgynous progressive brights since we started having popes and media fails to stir me.

I did note that they managed to totally ignore his prolific expositions on the family and on the rights of the unborn. What are the odds that their observation and consideration of his encyclical on the environment will bring about an examination of his encyclicals on pedocide, pedophilia, homosexuality and eldercide, and perhaps a reconsideration of their positions on those topics.

So far there is nothing but a deafening silence in these rooms. I wonder …

Liberal Hypocrisy … Justin as “Statesman”

I see a really simple comparison, a litmus test of thinking ability as it were, which reveals the mind set and moral values of our erstwhile self proclaimed “Natural Ruling Party” lead by Bieber Trudeau.

It involves two simple searches and a direct question for all Liberal supporters everywhere.

First, Google “Nazi Atrocities” and feast your eyes on a long litany of horrifying events and actions which the entire world of the 1940’s recognized as evil and which the whole world believed it was worth dieing to stop.

Second, Google “ISIS Atrocities” and feast your eyes on an absolutely horrifying litany of events and actions which are even worse than the NAZI atrocities because of what they say about this enemy.

In the 40’s, even the Nazis tried to hide the evil that they did, because at some level even they understood that what they were doing was evil.

In 2015, ISIS flaunts every gruesome detail, broadcasting it gleefully to all the world on the internet in bloody living colour.

Is it because they and their leftist, liberal supporters and apologists worldwide do not know or care about moral evil? Is it that they don’t recognize evil as evil? Do they see this as “just another lifestyle” choice which they “shouldn’t be judgmental” about?.

They appear to be perfectly comfortable with beheading and crucifying children, raping and torturing people to death in  a proliferation of horrifying ways that leave even Hollywood gore masters breathless with envy and in general inflicting the most misery possible on all they come in contact with. Is this where the progressive ideal is headed?

Can it be that the reason Liberal Progressives like Bieber Trudeau don’t want to stop this evil is because they sincerely don’t feel it is evil. They seem to have no moral compass and the only emotion they seem to feel is envy for ISIS’s courage to just kill their opponents. Is this another manifestation of the universal family of Orcs?

Would they do the same things themselves in a second if only they thought they could actually get away with it? Do they simply lack the courage to come out into the open, to put their desires into practice because they know that our society is “still not ready” for such actions? If you have any doubts about why I ask these questions simply pay a visit to the site “Being Liberal” and read the comments. You see a rolling litany of uncontrolled vitriol, an endless diatribe against everyone and anything that threatens their preferred lifestyle.

I experience a serious temptation to answer a resounding YES! to all of the above questions. That is the only reasonable human explanation which makes sense of all the observed data. But isn’t it more likely that this temptation is only another attack by the father of lies in his never ending work of sowing dissent and hatred throughout the human world.

The Book of Wisdom tells us that God is the author of life. God created and fashioned human beings as well as all creatures, that we might have life. We were created in His image and likeness. We are called to holiness. In contrast, we also read that death is the work of the devil, the result of the envy that the devil had for the life giving creation that God brought about.

The Book of Wisdom is clear. Our choice is life or death. We can choose to follow God and his life giving ways, or we can belong to the devil’s company and experience death. Denying that there is a choice or pretending that one “didn’t know” doesn’t absolve anyone of culpability in these choices.

My choice is to pray for all those who live in the culture of death, in all its many manifestations, that they may personally see Truth, and hear the Lord say to them “Talitha cumi”.

It takes courage to live through suffering; and it takes honesty to observe it. C. S. Lewis

To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless. G. K. Chesterton.

ZombieThis is just about the tamest item I could find to present on that loving peace-centred flagship of Liberal Thought (aka “Being Liberal”). Like Bieber Trudeau, it is just infantile.

And as usual, nitpickers can go pound sand. I do this just to piss you off.
